Now this is going to cause problems. What about all the people who signed up months ago still waiting for their cards? They'll have to pay. This will suck the big one.

The same article also states:
Quote:
Club Membership on sale outside the ground

Cost for Non-members:
Adults: $10
Concession: $5
Child U/15: $2
Family: $20

Perhaps if you have already signed up as a member, and if you have a reference or your membership number, you still may be able to get into the ground? I would advise seeing the people that will be selling the memberships outside of the venue.

Can't help but dream about how i will react when "Juddy" touches the ball for the first time in the navy blue jumper on Friday. Let's pray that he does play gets a few touches to please the fans and gets through unscathed.

I think this game is very important to organise our forward and defensive structures for round 1. IMO i think we still haven't got any closer to working out what are our best options are for both the key forward and defensive posts.

This and other questions that still need answers if we are to see genuine improvement in our teams performance this year:-

Who will support Fev upfront whilst fisher is out?
If Edwardes and Hartlett can't contribute this year who else is there?
Where does waite play?
Who out of Bower or Setanta take the extra tall defensive spot?
Can Grigg stand up in a back pocket and release walks further up the ground?
Can Hampson and Cloke hold up our rucks this year?
And finally with serious questions marks over whether blokes like Russell, Blackwell, will make it, where is our depth at compared to other sides?

Don't know the answers to these questions and im sure Ratts and his coaches don't either, but im interested to get some thoughts and opinions from other TC people.

I think that Ratts plan was to play every player in the pre season comp to give those that feel theyt haven't been given a chance when they were due some confidence that this will not happen under Ratts.

Sorting out who will play where is what season 2008 is all about. I think that the Ratts will use this year as a platform to settle the side into some regular positions and if someone is not performing in that position after a decent go, then someone else will be given a go. This is important because we haven't really done this with our list and are suffering for it.

I think that Waite will be given a post up forward and perhaps Carlos too, this will give Fev some support and having 2 tall athletic forwards will put opposition defences under great pressure.
Bower, Grigg, Jamison or even Sake could build a defensive unit lead by Hoops, Scotland and Thornton. It will be a bit of hit and miss, but whoever we pick must be played together for most of the season regardless of the outcomes. They must learn each others strength and weaknesses and be supportive of each other.
The only expectation I have of this season is that by the end of it, we will know who will be our FB, CHB, Ruckman and CHF.
Oh and I hope that Betts along with others are made to earn their spots, because with all the things I didn't like about Pagan, the one that grates me the most is that as poor as we were, we had to many walk up start players that didn't earn their spots and guys that should have been given a go weren't, DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN AGAIN RATTS.

Great post C7! Exactly the sort of sensible un-emotional analysis of our team that I as a passionate carlton supporter really enjoy.

It's reasonable to suggest you take a box of tissues to the game...

Aside from that, this could be the first 'sold out' practice match in history.

Does anyone know if they will record this match considering it's historical significance??

I would buy one seeing as it coincides with Judds first game for our club.

Well, i hope they do something about the PA system before then. Went to the Collingwood/Port game today with my Magpie-supporting son and couldnt hear a word when sitting in the stand to the left of the social club (and the crowd was not that big)

I hope someone can confirm all things.

This will get a big turn out.

Can we confirm where the best entrance point is, do you just show your membership as per normal to get in, how will parking be handled, will there be drinks and food avenues available?

I think Alien Nation has bought a sponsorship of TC, so you could be in luck on Friday lifelongblue.
