Last time I was at the club I purchased the magnificent DVD pack, eight glorious DVDs all for less than a hundred dollars

Image

This got me thinking, what is the next best thing to watching a carlton grand final win?

Watching Collingwood lose a grand final of course.

... and it just so happens there are also eight Grand Final Loss DVD available as well.

The pack would include, 1966, 1970, 1977, 1979, 1980, 1981, 2002 and 2003.

While there is a bit of overlap with the Carlton pack I'm sure this would be a collection every Carlton supporter would love to watch over and over.

What would you use as the cover art for the pack?

The picture of Malthouse and Licuria crying?

or

Peter Moore throwing his runners up medal onto the ground?

Jezza on Jerka's shoulders?
Wayne Harmes lying face down on the boundary?
Baldock wearing a filth jersey with the cup in hand?

The possibilities are endless!

Can we offer the 1983 and 2001 Grand Finals to go with it?

(I'd love to include 1990 too... but then I have to watch Collingwood win!).

I've got a fantastic vid put out by the Club in about 1985 hosted by Tim Lane; and running for about 90 minutes with terrific footage..

Some t shirt slogans for the club shop:
'Riewoldt is one sided -he doesn't have a masculine one'.

'Kevin Sheedy says Daniel Kerr is an aboriginal -who do I believe?'

Plus the quote from Buckley where he stated he had a greater chance of winning a flag with Collingwood.

hey, dad's got a copy of that video as well! havent watched it in yonks. it was a very well done tape.

you know what else id love to see the club market? when i was in New York mid last year a number of sports shops and NY yankees merchandise retailers sold navy blue t-shirts with the yankees monogram on the left breast and then on the back a players name and number. you could get current players as well as legends. they were really well done and simple/cheap enough for the club to make/market and sell en masse. imagine a "GIBBS 4" sitting on shelf next to "KERNAHAN 4", or Fev and Jezza, "williams 2", "dominator 7", "doull 11" or whatever...id buy a couple for sure. plenty of people walking around NY had "jeter 2" or "mantle 7" or di maggio and gehrig etc and theyre a basic enough shirt to pretty much go with anything. i think you'd find quite a few people wearing them at the games too. they could retail for around $30, i reckon theyd fly of the shelves.
