We move 6 years experience of dealing with floggings, but I have to say it doesn't get any easier!

At least we have scored now.

74 - 25 half time

Maybe a Carlton- Essendon* comeback :-D

Gain 4 goals in third quarter at least it becomes interesting and they retrieve some self belief.

At least their work rate is up - and that is what lacked and caused the other issues.

Well, that was slightly less crap.

We're still pretty damn rusty. I just hope we can run the game out with some sort of commitment and get some miles into the legs.

once again our skill level is appalling. :(

and it's about time fev realises that everytime he gets the ball and is in range of the goals he doesn't have to shoot.

gibbs and grigg looking really good.

I think we won the quarter (Yeah!!!!)

Line in the sand, don't care if we lose but lets put a bigger effort in the second half.

What it is it with the handballs, they are putting the receiving player under pressure with the handballs.

We won the quarter :-D

I wouldn't worry to much yet. Hawks are a class act and contendor for the Premiership. Keep the score within 50pts and I'd be pleased.

Anyone who thinks the umpires are what's killing us are absolutely kidding themselves. We're killing ourselves through bad decision making, no communication, and a lack of courage. The umpring's been shite on both sides, and the only reason it looks as though the hawks are benefitting is because they're using it that much better. They're showing us the level we should be aspiring to.

It's clear that the players think when they get the ball "Now what would Denis want me to do here?" and then just do the opposite. It was only when we actually started moving it quickly that we put any sort of pressure on them. It's also clear that the players are intimidated, and are scared to bite back. Good on K-Dog late in the quarter to serve it up to Buddy, setting an example, but everywhere our players go there are hawks in abundance. They need to stand up to them and show them that they aren't going to be walked on. They need to put their head over the ball, not bend down at speed to try and pick it up. They need to realise that they don't have all the time in the world to make decisions.

It doesn't matter what happens in the second half, the damage is done. The hawks will just toy with us now.

Don't agree, if Fev is anywhere in the 50, he has to shoot for goal

Can we please kick the ball from a kickout anywhere other than the back pocket.

We've been pretty soft so far. Really need a couple of tough physical players in this side.

Our forward line is missing a target other than Fev. Send Waite forward. Please.

Relax people, it is the second game of the pre-season cup. Hawthorn played really good footy in that first quarter and blew us away, better now and learn from it.
