They should have given it to Bowden.

That is hilarious.

Collingwood don't even have a deserved candidate for their captaincy role. So it's a bit rich they criticise us, when we have the game's best candidate.

But I guess you shouldn't expect too much from intellectually challenged ferals.

Judd is arguably the finest player of the last 5 years so to claim that appointing somehow devalues the Carlton captaincy as opposition supporters are doing seems just a little overdramatic.

Since walking into the club he has shown more leadership that most players in the competition, let alone at Carlton. The way he goes about his football is second to none, the players will learn more from watching him this pre-season than they did in the last 5 years with Pagan.

Kade Simpson would have been my choice for skipper but good luck to Judd and Stevens in their respective roles...

Does he want it? What did Chris Judd say about it all? I know I sound like a bit of a wowser, so apologies for that, but I'm keen to hear what he has to say.

Fantastic decision, would have been happy with either one of Judd, Stevens or Simpson, however this is the best choice, IMO.

Whichever way you slice it, this to me shows the difference between our club and weak clubs like St Kilda who would rather nominate half the team as a captain so they don't have to make a hard decision and risk hurting someone's feelings. It's a hard call on Stevo in particular, but to win I feel you need to be a bit ruthless and this shows the club isn't afraid to make a hard decision. If we were St Kilda the presser would have been for Stevo, Simmo and Judd all being captains.

Yep absolutely - but then they'd feel in doing that they might upset Riewoldt or Ball, and so they try to include all of them. And that's the sort of mentality which sees them bowing out in prelim finals and not going all the way.

To me, nominating a captain says - this is the person we feel embodies everything we value at our club, playing wise. The leadership group is then placed to support him.

Nominating three captains to me says - we don't have the balls to put one person up in front of the public as our vision of the club. So we'll take the easy option and chuck everyone up there. pfft.

I am not even going to bother going over there - but I can imagine.

"Chris Judd, you can have him".

Yes thanks.

Always nice to say thank you.

They picked the right man, but I feel sorry for Stevo.
He has been a credit to himself since he came to Carlton. Playing under
difficulties for the last few years.
Hope he can now settle down and show us waht he can do without the top tagger on his backside every week.

He will say. Hes yours captain. :-D
