As for Stevens, he came second to Whitnall last year and I think that tells a bit of a story.

Yes, it shows that the coach overrode the decision of the players for his own benefit.
Stevens and Judd would be a good outcome IMO.

I hope it is not co-captains.

So do I. hate the concept, to the point where I think the AFL should make clubs nominate one 'official' captain so we really know where everyone stands.

Judd should be appointed, if Stevens cracks it, so be it, just proves he's not worthy to be Captain. He's hardly been a shining example to the other players in the years he's been with us - sure, plenty of good games, but plenty of times he presented out of shape, and admitted as much.

JUDD. Premiership Captain, star player, role model. JUDD.

Co-Captains is a bullshit theory developed by a pissweak club like St Kilda whose football department didn't have the balls to make a real decision.

I'd rather Cain Ackland as sole captian than Stevens and Judd as co-captains.

Good find Danielle!

I want Judd, but would be happy with him and Stevo.

Interesting point was made yesterday that AFL footy has changed som much, that a single captain is almost obsolete.

On-field the game is so fast, and off-field the responsibilities are so time-consuming, that a shared role is almost mandatory.

Whichever way the cookie crumbles....We're back in business!

Clubs normally tell the media what the presser is about unless it is something out of left field.

Did Stevo look happy?

At the end of the day he has to accept that Judd is a once a generation player, it's a bit like the Blues in 2000 - we were good but Essendon* were just about unbeatable.

If people are envious now, it will go to a whole new level when the captains photo from all 16 clubs is published...

That's pretty much it Stevens spoke that Judd is just about the best player to lose it too. Being the best player in the comp at least Stevens can look back and say he lost to him.
