I think he has to push himself. If the timeline the medical staff have set is the 3rd practice match, then it's not good for him to tip toe through training only to give it its first working over in a match situation

Yes, yes we should rush him back at the expense of his long term health so he is ready for round 1 so we can beat richmond.

I really worry about the priorities of our team sometimes.

The bad news about Judd's injury from what I have read is it is potentially career threatening. The good news is we are a 100 percent chance to get him fully fit and back his best if we go about his recovery from his operation the right way. And the right way means not rushing him into full training, reducing his load if he is sore, increasing it only when he hasn't pulled up sore from a number of days.

But of course lets rush him back for round 1, just like the Saints rushed back Luke Ball (look how he is now). And if it recurs again in round 10 this year, or round 3 next year, or round 8 when we are going for a premiership in 2011, it won't matter. Why, because we beat Richmond in round 1 2008! Great! If Judd misses round 1 he misses round 1. If judd is out till mid season he's out till mid season. I don't give a stuff as long as we get him back to his best by 2009.

We have seen groin problems rob players of the best years of their careers when they don't need to. We have seen players rushed back from injury and as a result re-injure themselves, the second time with minimal chance of recovery. We don't need Judd against Richmond, we don't need Judd against Stkilda in round 2. Sure we'd like him at his best there. But we need him at his best when we're going for premierships. I just hope the club rests him until he is 100 percent ready and safe from the risk of injury before they throw him to the wolves. I'm guessing Wallet and Miller and some other clubs/coaches won't mind testing out Judd's groin if he starts to take control of the game.

But by all means lets panic about Judd not being ready round 1. Because it's so important we beat the Tigers this year, and Essendon* (twice hopefully) and a few others so we can win eight games!

that's right, use that groin. Be ready for the third NAB match at all costs so he can get match fitness for round 1. So we can beat Richmond..

who is this judd fellow?

Star recruit down at Punt Road.

He sits on a box high above the arena, with KB.

He just may end up there in 2 years if we rush him. This is something we have to get right. I couldn't bear to watch us flower up Judds career so he can get back in time for Round 1 so we can beat Richmond. And half the problem is us supporters. He's the star recruit. The club want him on show for round 1. It's understandable. I wish some of you were a little more understanding and patient. We don't need him playing every game this year. We need him playing every game in 2010 when we are challenging for a premiership. We need him in 2011 when we are going for back to back. (Come to think of it Natinui and Hurley would be handy then too but hey 8 wins this year is the go)

Can we all settle the flower down!

All this hearsay, opinions, sensationalism...

Is starting to get a tad tiresome!

Until juddy or the CFC come out and say : " The groin is stuffed " "He wont play "

Yada yada yada…

Why cant we just be happy that we have the best player in the comp, recovering from injury and from all reports from a carlton / judd perspective : Things are going well!

So please, just hold on to the good and flower off the bad…

Its not that hard!!!

Why don't we just give him the year off, tank and get the priority pick again?

You arent talking up tanking already are you Obama.

We have to target 12 or 14 wins and try and make the finals. If we only get 8 then thats too bad but you cant get to 12 without going past 8.

Yes I am. Because we will not make the finals this year. We will win 8-10 games and it will be considered a disaster when we are going for a three peat in five years.

What are all your views on 2004 now? Oh that's right it's different. Our 8-10 wins this year are going to be different to 2004 aren't they? And Natinui and Hurley might well be better than Franklin and Deledio, but... 8 wins!!!

This is unbelievable. We've gone from Juddy being pretty much on track in his recovery to tanking?? FFS.

Of course he's going to pull up sore. Everytime you push yourself a bit further in a recovery program, you pull up sore.

Calm down.

What medical background do you have to have to be questioning the club? We really know nothing about his injury and the rehabilitation he is undertaking. I have full faith that the new admin and Judd would not risk long term disaster over short term gain.

As for tankning, well that is idiotic. If you can't see the difference between a young up and coming team getting 8-10 wins and on the improve and the 2004 side, then you have issues.

Damn straight that last paragraph, anyone who can't see that is just plain dumb.

Barack - dont listen to the othet posters.

I agree 100% with you and appreciate the fact that there is someone else in this world who loves the club as much as me and understands whats required for us to become a force again.

If Juddy is 100% ready for round 1 then we should go all guns blazing this season. If however, he wont pkay till mid season and we look like winning just 7-8 games for the year, there is only 1 solution...TANK!!!

This thread isn't about tanking, so lets get back on topic.

BO has his not so secret agenda. He hopes CFC finish last simply so WH gets the flick. Getting the #1 pick would merely be an added bonus in his eyes.

Going the tank again, BO? You are kidding me right? You reckon there is nothing to gain by winning 8-10 games for the year? Have you thought about the kids that have been with the Blues for the past couple of years? You don't think those 8-10 wins will have any effect on them?

Sure, tank 2008 and get high draft picks for 2009. Pick up Natanui and Hurley or whoever else you have in mind. Ever think that by picking up 2 or 3 gun under 18 recruits, that we might lose 3 or 4 20-22 year old gun AFL players? What would players like Murphy, Gibbs, Walker etc think of our club if we constantly finish down the bottom?

You really need to think long and hard about what you wish for, BO.

Next person to talk tanking in this thread will get a 24hr ban, now get back to talking about Judd's groin area.
