Perhaps you might need to attend lessons on what type of headlines sell papers. Fev actually says it is between Judd and Stevens.

I know what Fev said. Go back and read my posts. And I'm not interested in what sells newspapers, I'm only interested in what's best for Carlton.

The timing of Fev's comments is not a disaster, but it's not ideal either IMO. That's all I'm saying.

....and Judd will be a great skipper for us. :-D

Hear is your 50 cent eachway headline.

" Fev unsure if Judd should be Captain"

I'm absolutely rapt for Carrots breaking into the leadership group. What a perfect example of rewarding someone who continually works his backside off to get the best of himself all the time. He has mentioned in interviews that he knows he isn't blessed with great skill or pace etc but he continues to work extremely hard, within his capabilities to be successful.

I think there are others ahead of him for the captaincy but if this is not leadership then I don't know what is.

Excellent post.

If I understand the process correctly the players have picked their leadership group and it will be the match committee/coach who will nominate a captain from that leadership group for the board to ratify. Irrespective of what the players think who should be captain they are out of the process.

All the more reason why Fev could have said "I'll support whoever the club chooses, we have a really good leadership group now, we all want to do it, we'll see what happens between now and Round 1" :P

How about "Fev backs Ratten to make the right choice"? :-D

That leadership group all got overlooked for Whitnall last year with the exception of Judd of course

Let's hope those with tarnished records don't make fools of the club. I'm nervous about some of those 'leaders' let me tell ya.. :?

We have a totally different leadership structure, including some new personnel, to the one that was appointed 12 months ago. They are being supported by a different coaching panel and administration.

“Our leadership group’s got a real good spread of experience and different positions and things like that, so yeah [I'm] really happy.”

Different positions?

5 midfielders and our FF....Even with scotland remaining in the backline it's got me thinking.

Hmmmmm.....What is Ratten planning?

What you want is 22 leaders.

I just uploaded it for Beano, but I might as well post it here for anyone else who hasn't seen it.

And the evil Mac users.

It's pretty clear, it's been said to death - new team, new slate.

Let Fev be Fev. A person of his personality thrives on responsibility. Without it, they become unfocused and tend to wander mentally. Yet if pushed into something that demands more of them, they'll exceed. I know it's sounds wishy-washy but I know his personality very well and what they're capable of.

Others are no-brainers. Carrots, well Pagan did something right, in fact, Scotland, Fev and Simmo can all thank him to some degree.

Different code. Still relevant to the captaincy debate, however...
