Just thought Tassie fans should kow that despite all our support for the club over the last five terrible years, the club has snubbed us agin.
When Jack was president, we got a players function once a year. And he brought the top players as well as coach. Under scumbag collins and flower malouf we got nothing. Then finally someone woke up to the fact that once upon a time we had the highest interstate membership of any club - and it dropped off when they refused to hold functions here.
At the NAB Cup game in launceston against Hawthorn (and remember that the hawks play "real" games here each year), we had two-thirds of the crowd and absolutely creamed them with membership sales and merchandise.
So, after all that support one would reasonably expect the club to reward us with another function to say thanks. But no, without apologies or reasons, or any comment at all, we got told, no function.
So my friends, write to the club, to Dick and greg Swann and remind them that it is not ok to just take, take, take in the bad times and not give back in the good times.
And BS, reckon you will write too!!

I'm sure if there is enough attention brought to it, something will get done. As you pointed out, this isn't the Smorgan/Malouf era anymore. These guys will listen.

Yeah, us Melbournians get stiffed as well - time and time again.

:P

Seriously though, if the club is serious about getting members on board something must be done for the interstate Blues (aside from simply a membership options). I'm sure that if done correctly, the interstate members would count for more than a couple of thousand memberships to the tally - as well as not dropping of to Rugby or Soccer.

Any TC viewing, Carlton board members care to jump in an give these Blue-deprived interstaters some sort of feedback?? :?:

Bloody hell .. and I thought we got stiffed

The way Adele speaks (pres NSW supporters) its a hard line to tackle when you're dealing with the club .. it's almost like they don't care

Perhaps someone at the club could take this thread to those who can do something about it .. it's enough for Kevin Rudd to take his Cabinet around the place!!!

a nicely worded combined letter from the ACT, Wagga Wagga, NSW and Queensland supporters group to the Club saying something along the lines of "we woz robbed again this year!"

And yet Tasmania is the only state to ever have its map appear during a premiership GF.

Lets hope those in charge take note and change their thinking.

The supporters were admirable during the 02-07 period. Record memberships in our bleakest period, many supporters came to the fore to replace sponsors who had dropped off, many supporters giving up their time to work at/for the club for free.

I remember when Carlton One came to power. The promise was that Carlton would become an inclusive club again. Lets hope that has'nt been forgotten with the change in power base at the club.

A ticket to Tassie is pocket money at the moment. There is no excuse.

The club has made great strides since RP took the reins but issues such as this, the lack of updated available merchandise, the annual looooong wait for membership packs to arrive, the outdated profiles and information on the website, is still very poor.
C'mon Swanny!!
