My question is, why would the board not vote in favour to get Fahour on the board. Surely someone of his ilk would be beneficial to the club.

We have reportedly been trying to get him on board for years.

Why not get him on ?? This is what I don't understand.

The report in the newspaper was incorrect. No vote was taken. So far, only the CEO and one other have met with him and had a brief discussion. There are several other individuals who have expressed interest in joining the Board. This has come up suddenly (only about a week or so before the AGM and last Board meeting). We felt there was no need to rush. The matter will be re-visited early in the year. The Board does not meet again until mid-Feb. The above is a matter of public record.

Thanks for answering my question Stephen. By the way, I am very happy with what the board are currently doing. But I would love to see Fahour join the board as well.

Serious question here....................... Is one of them Sandra Sully? That'd be cool.

While it's fantastic to see plenty of interest in joining the board, we will never forgot those who joined bR.P and gave up their time and energy for the club when it was at its lowest, before it was cool to be on the Carlton board.

I'm sure these interested individuals will still be able to contribute to the club in other ways, thats where the Carlton strength has always been...in numbers of generous people, who love their club and selflessly give to it.

Thanks again Stephen and Mark.

Smorgon deserves no credit as President for being on the board. He tried to stop valuable people coming on the board (including Stephen, Zac and Mark) for months. If they had gotten on earlier, perhaps some of the disasters and damage caused by the board in 2006 may have been prevented. And lets not kid ourselves, when he did get people onto the board, it was merely to try to save his own skin. I'm sorry but there is no other word for it, disgrace.
