Merry Christmas, can’t wait for the New Year!

Popped into the last training session and the Christmas spirit swelled in this old ghost ‘til I felt like that little boy taking a peek into the lounge room before mum and dad were up to see the gleaming blue bike waiting for me. It was mine! Blue and as shiny as a barn’s bright new heart!

That’s how it is at Carlton. Ratts and Braddles playing out in the middle while the boys stretch. Skinny the lark, skirting the ground as he runs, smile as big as the sun bursting through the clouds. And Teaguey. Teaguey’s voice dominates Princes Park. Inspired get by the club. I’d run through a brick wall for him and Ratts – well it’s easy as a ghost but you know what I mean!

So there was Judd….Um let me say that again to the sound of bells and whistles, a few jigs for Dad and a click of the Irish heart, so there was Judd… I will never get tired of that…so there was Judd with Fish and the other rehab boys handballing… Judd kicking with Aisake later on…Judd walking, talking…well yeah, my eyes were drawn to him. How can you put a price on hope?

Stevo trained without the danger singlet, he’s flat chat now and looking ready to explode.

Look, the boys trained well for the last session, Ratts and the coaches were full of energy and everything seemed to be aimed at helping the players make the right decisions. The players practise so under real pressure they will choose the best option.

I left feeling excited and peeved the new season is still so far away so I wrote this little song… (that’s a lie but it fitted in well with what I want to do next) and it goes a bit like this….

(with apologies to tommi and all Beatle fans)

So this is Christmas
And what have we done
Another year over
And a new one hasn’t begun
And so this is Christmas
Next year will be fun
The Juddster and Stevens
The old and the young

{Refrain}
A very merry Christmas
Can’t wait for next year
It will be a good one
With plenty to cheer

And so this is Christmas The wait is over
for Brisbane and Geelong Watch us lift
For the Roos and other poor ones the wait is over
The road is so long Bluebaggers!
And so happy Christmas The wait is over
For black and for white Watch us lift
For red and black ones The wait is over
Can’t wait to renew the fight Old dark Navies!

And so this is Christmas The wait is over
Look what we have done Watch us lift
Another year over The wait is over
And a new one has not begun Bluebaggers
And so happy Christmas The wait is over
Next year will be fun watch us lift
With Dick and Swann the wait is over
The old and the young Old Dark Navies

The wait is over watch us lift
The wait is over Bluebaggers!

Merry Christmas everyone

Thanks Danny Boy.

Thanks, too to all the TCers for making the distance between Mexico and Princes Park a lot shorter than it has been in the past. Discovering TC and 'meeting' so many people on line has been great.
I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a great 2008 on and off the field, when I hope to chat with many of you again and even disagree with some of you. After all, that's what this site is about.

I am hoping to be at the Round 1 game with Blue Beatle so if you see someone wearing a blue sombrero, come and say 'hello'. Odds are it'll be me.

FELIZ NAVIDAD

Dont know where to put this story - so I will put it in the Merry Christmas Thread.

Went to Federation Square yesterday because Agro Junior wanted to see the Aussie Cricket Team and get some autographs.

I wore my Carlton Polo Top. 8)

On the way to Federation Square we stopped in to the "Nandos - Chicken Shop" on Flinders Street next to the Forum Theatre for a snack.

The manager came up to us and said love the Shirt how are we going to go this year - and we had a great chat - he was about my age but he asked Agro Junior did he know who Alex Jesaulenko was - of course Agro Junior - had never seen him play but could tell him how many games, premierships, best and fairests etc etc 8) .

Manager from Nandos ultra impressed - and then asked me whether I could remember the great Alex Jesaulenko advertising "YooHoo" milk and I said of course - I said I even had a magazine somewhere with the advertisement (and if I could learn how to scan and save stuff like Warby I would post it  ).

Anyway this guy teriffic and he upsized Agro Juniors - chips from a small to a large and we all left with smiles on our faces.

So anyone going to Nando's Flinders St - where your Carlton Stuff and have a chat to the Manager and tell him about Jezza's YooHoo milk ad - and you will have a friend for life.

:-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D
