According to Pssst Lance is to become Suburban Football's highest paid player.

Apparently he has been offered a $100,000 package to play for Lalor.
The deal includes a car & a job. He won't be the Coach

Big Red and Dylan McLaren are named for tomorrows game between Palmerston and NTBlues old side St Mary"s.

Lance in the forward pocket will play against one of my best mates sons (Aidan Hill) Another friends son ( yes I have two friends!) Jon Anstess is playing full back for Saints, so will probably be directly opposed to Dylan at some stage.

There is a Carlton connection for St Mary's as well. Iggy Vallejo is named on th HBF for Saints. Some of you may remember that Iggy spent a season or two at Carlton playing for the reserves side a few years ago . Iggy is the son in law of my mate - he is married to Jon Anstess' sister.

Interestingly, Dylan McLaren is named on the interchange.

Sorry Lance and Dylan but I will be barracking for the famous old dark green.

Thanks for the info NTblue,

Iggy wore the famous number 55 guernsey at the blues:

and the not so famous number 50

If you ever get a chance to have a chat to him would be great to get some information about his time at carlton so that an Iggy Vellejo page can be created on the Blueseum. :-D

i can confirm that i wasn't exactly sure how much he was going to get paid but it was always going to be a massive amount. lalor will be playing div 1 next year so that means they'll play against shane whitnall's bundoora twice!

I see Iggy regularly at his father-in-laws place and at every second BBQ that I go to. I am sure he would have fitted in well at Carlton. He is a top quality kid. I will get him to PM you Jars.

Shitty club in the DVFL (Now called the Northern Football League?).

Played against them a number of times, got rubbed out for 2 weeks for
a smidge of white-line fever.

Good luck to Lance anyway if this is true, going back to the club that
he played for as a kid...

One of the many joys of living up here is the great fishing as Lance & Dylan found out.
