Ch 7 news -

Walker & Ackland, both shoulder surgery.

They said 2 'stars' before the break, well, one was right.

Walker confident of quick return, 3 weeks off maybe.

Ackland may miss 3 months

Ackland = Opportunity for the youngsters to stand up. I wouldn't expect Ackland to get another game at Carlton if he is out for four months.

Tex, lets hope it doesn't effect him too much, i have no doubt over his fitness levels when he comes back.

Walker's injury related to him missing rnds 21 & 22(?), shame they didn't or couldn't fix it earlier

And wasn't this a problem earlier and should have had it done earlier?

Ch7 report suggested that he was advised to have an op but he knew better!!! Hope that teaches him a lesson.

Lets hope Clokes shoulder holds out because in all fairness to the other four it would be a tough ask to step up and take on the No 1 rucking role.

Carlos might be thrown in there again - unfortunately

I'm no big fan of Ackland but at present he is the best we have - It would be unfair to expect Big K to take on the rucking role- Hampson is still only 19 or 20 and has only played two full games , Jacobs from all accounts is miles off and Aisake from what I saw last year doesn't know wether he is Arthur otr Marther when he is on a football field . so that leaves us with Carlos and Cloke and Ratten has already stated he doesn't want Carlos in the Ruck. Cloke is good but he has that big ? mark over his shoulders .

Ackland was going to be our number 1 ruckman until sich time as the others developed and that could still be a long way off

Bad luck for AW but three weeks isnt so bad...

Ackland has a chance to redeem himself and even though I am not a fan of his I do think he has some natural talent and is capable of playing the game at a high level....at 196cm he could play CHF or even take on some of the gorillas down back.
He is as lazy a footballer as I have seen and is a wasted talent....can take a good mark, is mobile, good kicking skills for a big bloke and isnt a stiff like some big blokes but cant be bothered working hard.
I's be telling him its all over as No 1 ruckman but there is a spot at CHF.......a real challenge for the coaching staff is Ackland..

Finally, Ackland can use an excuse for playing in the bullants.

2.And what lesson is to be learnt!!
The kid will not succumb to anything if it means missing a chance to play for his beloved Carlton Football Club.
And BB,nice of of you to wish him well ,hey.
And, to all other TC'ers, the recovery period is 2 months.

All the best to Walker in his recovery.

DOA, do you know if Andy will get a shot in the midfield this year? I'm hoping he'll get a few games in there personally.

That really sucks for Andy, 2 months is going to really wreck his pre-season, hopefully he come back bigger and better than ever.

Fingers crossed everything goes well, Andy Walker IMO could be the next Kouta extractor in the midfield if given the chance.

In terms of Ackland, did they operate on his heart as well?
