The same Fatpryck Smith that has no problem with the AFL taking sponsorship money from "price fixing cartels", but running a football club is a no-no???

Get [REDACTED]...

I'll support Pratt as president until he starts to hurt the club, which doesn't seem like eventuating. In the midst of all these events, we've secured record memberships, record sponsorships, have enticed quality administrators and not to mention the best player in the land.

you would probably want to be pretty careful with the personal attacks on patrick smith and his intellect and mental fitness etc

wouldnt put legal action past him, he is a well known forum reader too.

He should stay an extra year beyond that just on the principle of it.

Look, I have no doubt the club would be fine without Pratt as President. Swann is doing a fantastic job, but if other parties (Sponsors, Banks) feel better about Pratt being President then he should stay as long as possible.

I'm sure he will continue to support the club either way being the great Carlton man he is.

Aggers, you know I love you and your work, but this post is completely abhorrent, offensive and disgusting and should be suitably edited by the mods.

How could you even consider including a 'no' option.

I would like to see a quiet handover in the off season. I am very greatful for everything Pratt has done for Carlton, and do not want to see him disgraced for this reason.

Take the fact that Pratt is Carlton out and the most of us would be appalled at what he did. It is hard to divorce these actions and pretend they didn't happen.

In a business context, what he did was very wrong and he copped his fair wack.

BUT, as wrong as it was, it does not bring the game of AFL football into "disrepute". Actual participants, such as Cousins, are capable of doing this through their actions. Why? He is ONLY KNOWN to the general public for playing AFL football. Think Cousins, think AFL football.

But luck Patrick, you're about 56 years too late - it could have stuck if Dick was still playing for Carlton U 19's. Move on fool.

End of story.

St Kilda's history brings the game in to far greater disrepute.

Who our registered members vote for is up to them.
Its a completely democratic process.
Patrick can get rooted.

Wait for Melvey to vote, that'll change the balance a bit
I'm think Melvey is actually Patrick Smith. Like Smith, everything he says is wrong.

So it looks like the (as it currently stands) 92% isn't really an approval rating for Pratt, it's just the percentage of TCers who can select the correct poll option when voting?

If you think RP sould stay.. and you wish to show him your appreciation..
Send him your thanks and im sure we can organise an email ..with all your support to him direct.
There are forces trying to shoot the club and RP down... i think we the supporters and members of the club should vice our solidarity and thank in support.

The issue isn't even Richard Pratt. If he left today, tomorrow, all the same haters would bag Carlton for other reasons.

It would be crap about us tanking, or cheating the salary cap, or the way we treated Josh Kennedy or about John Elliott being a crook or the Judd deal, or forcing Whitnall to retire, or the Pagan/Mitchell saga, or any other alleged sin we have committed.

Some people are obsessed with bringing Carlton down. Its worked for a few years but we are getting strong again. We should not apologise or explain why we are sticking up for one of our own. Every opposition supporter would be sticking up for Pratt, if he was President of their club.

We are Carlton. F*** the rest, we will do the right thing for our club not yours.

POW Septembergurl. Beautiful.

And everyone's contributions are also worthwhile.

Let's have another look at this. Perhaps this point has been covered so I apologise to anyone who has made this point before.

I'm not sure how all the process works but the court said he could still be chairman of Visy, even though he has committed this misdemeanour. So if he is still worthy of that position, there is no reason why he can't be President of Carlton which had nothing to do with the charges laid against him. Firstly because he wasn't involved as a director or board member at Carlton when he committed the said offence and secondly it has nothing to do with football, directly.

Besides, he has brought the game and our club into 'repute' by restoring one of the most successful clubs back into the black perfectly legitimately.

He had also informed the AFL before he became President (from my understanding) of the impending charges and they said 'No problem', so they can't morally, at least, by decree issue a disrepute ruling against him. They may however advise him informally to step aside to remove the heat from themselves.

Ben Cousins, who I have sympathy for and are not vindicative against performed his indiscrections as a footballer - nothing more, nothing less, so the comparison cannot be made legitimately.

I'm all for a collective email, as has been suggested, to throw our support behind our beloved President.

He may or may not be an angel, but there is nothing wrong with his performance as President of Carlton.

We luv ya Dick. Keep it real! Hang tough! We are right behind you, as I'm sure the club is.

am curious as to why you think it doesn't. wouldn't you want a man who is beyond reproach as your president?

his 'fair whack' is equivalent to about a $500 fine for you or i.

anyway, irrespective of whether he stays or goes pratt has restrengthened the club as promised so his work is essentially done.
