A big enough coup to cause more penis envy over at Saintsational?

Seems the answer is YES

Haha, I think it took Patrick Smith 0.2 seconds to start going on about Pratt after KB mentioned Fahour joining Carlton.

Ahmed Fahour is joining the Carlton board?

Andain gets the prize. Thanks for the info kenny.

Surely, Fahour will be our president, if not this AGM, before the next AGM.

Dick will leave the Carlton Board under the same conditions he joined the Carlton Board:

- under his own terms
- on his own timetable

Not because the collective whinging sooks and Patrick "Cousin Eddie" Smith  have had anything to do with.

Vodafone $2 mill sponsorship of Kangaroos

But hidden in the article was this gem"

Quote:
at the end of last season Vodafone opened its doors to Melbourne’s clubs to make a pitch for sponsorship.

Carlton emerged as favourite, but has since negotiated a new deal with long-time sponsor Optus on improved terms.

Did we know about the improved terms with Optus??? What are they???

I like the line in the HUN that says something about sources saying the NAB would remain Fahour's Number 1 priority. Ummmmm...... how many Club Presidents don't have a pretty important responsibilities outside of their footy clubs? Anyway, a pretty lame point to make in the article I thought.

Of course though, the news about Fahour is great! Well done again to my beloved Carlton Footy Club!

It will only be great news if and when Ahmed proves himself to be a great President.

Until then it is the duty of voting members of the club to keep him or any successor to account.

So that basically says that we knocked back a major sponsor that walked awy from the Saints

Very clever by the "Pratt Pack".
We all know that OPTUS are hell bent on keeping/increasing the relationship between CFC and themselves and what better way than flying a competitor with money to throw around past the front door
The OPTUS logo looks good on our jumper. :-D

kennyhunter on the money again!

Let's hope Ahmed can deliver as well.

But is there enough recliners in the boardroom for all of them :?:

Apparently Pratt played Vodafone along, making them think they would get the sponsorship, and then used that as leverage to sign a great deal with Optus.

You don't make billions by being honest ...

The Vodafone HQ are apparently filthy with their GM for the way things unfolded, as the Roos are inferior to both St Kilda and Carlton in terms of what they offer sponsors.

not dishonest, just doing the best deal possible for your club - just like if you are buying your new ute you will compare prices between the dealer at Cranbourne and the one at Franger - then play them off against each other. Fluffy dice thrown in for all Aints fans
