This picture of Adam Hartlett was taken after being told he was going to be given every opportunity to make CHF his own... :P

I haven't messaged him, or any other players.

It was fun friend hopping though, heaps of footballers on there....

Unfortunately I don't think Hart's is good enough. I just don't rate him and if he is our best CHF prospect than we'll be going nowhere next year.

I'm not sure if we need a 'true' CHF with the midfield we have. I like Ratts' idea of Fev and Fish being lead up players, Waite to play deep forward and Kreuzer to be another tall option with Betts at their feet.

Yeah I agree. Waite can take a good contested mark and can be a handful because of his hops. He also has the ability to add lots of pressure when the ball is going the other way. would be fantastic if he played deep FF

i think waite puts a lot of pressure on opposition backlines which makes hom very dangerous, i takes at least 1 good backman if not 2 to mind him, put him at chf & leave him there

There's something a bit Prendergastish about this Hartlett bloke. He always looks like an accident waiting to happen.

Look I'm not super impressed either but let's face it - these guys haven't had the luxury of slotting into a well structured backline or gameplan. This year, they shouldn't feel the brunt of a midfield getting pummelled at every clearance, or a coach trying to save his own skin. I hope and believe that with competition for spots and a coach that will give players a chance if they're knocking down doors at Preston, careers will be made and broken. It's exciting again.

Let's see how they go with a bit of:

Leadership
Confidence
Structure
Support

And then start writing them off as duds.

Our midfield actually did really well clearance wise, which may surprise some given our ruck inadequacies. Even when we were pumelled, notably against Freo, we won clearances, and in this instance, inside 50s. This proves the point that it is the defensive pressure from the forward 50 and midfield which leads to our defence going to shit.

I think one thing we must be aware of is while we still did well in the clearance department in 07, the real problem was our lack of midfielders and subsequent rotations. By this i mean the players we too fatigued to consistently deliver the ball efficiently.

With plenty of midfielders in 08 to rotate, i believe we will see a fair change in the consistencey of our disposal.
