That is a ripper.
It has remained hidden for a long time.
You must have some good contacts up there. :-D

What a pity we dont have the game in that quality colour.
There were snippets in colour, but I think they were from film
and not the best quality.

Unbelievably I've never seen it in colour before. Good get. My old man was there that day, and told me that even the filth supporters applauded that mark.

I challenge anyone to think of a single moment in time that sums up our club more than that mark.

spalding's smother and goal in the 95 GF was another great moment, not as spectacular, but goosebump territory just the same.

harmes knock in from the forward pocket in the 79 GF was pretty special too.

but i cant think of a more iconic carlton image than jezza's mark

good idea for a thread of it's own donstuie - the greatest carlton moments on the field

There's some more great shots of that mark in this thread mate on pages 1 and 2.

Yeh, would rate
1. Jezza's '68 mark
2. Piggy's '79 knock
3. The '07 Scum come-back
as typical of the Spirit of the Blues

Not Jezza's 1970 mark?

I guess what I'm getting at was whether a single image, a single moment in time, captures the spirit of the Carlton footy club more than Jezza's mark. I can think of none that compare.

(Murph throwing the ball in the air after 99 PF was right up there IMO)

Jezza's mark for the Big V against WA was brilliant too.
His page at the Blueseum has a link to the video.

For absolutely no reason at all , I thought I'd have a crack at naming all the players in the photo.
Left to right. John Goold..Con Britt..David McKay..Barry Gill
John Greening?..Serge..Denis O'Callaghan
Bert Thornley (obscured)..Jezza.. Jerker Jenkin
Ted Potter..Len Thompson.

Can't pick the Collingwood bloke in the pocket in front of Ted Potter.
Stand to be corrected on any of the above by any eagle eyed TCer.
GREAT PHOTO.

Well done coming up with all of the names in the shot.
I checked out the reverse angle in another thread and can see Ian Robertson (34) - perhaps instead of Thornley.
Greening is certainly there - the other shot shows his number 22.
