Waite - will play forward ... but will also be thrown down back.

That's interesting. I thought I heard him say the opposite. Namely in the backline, but with occasional forays up forward, if needed.

I could have of course misheard.

He definitely said that he would be playing down back.

I have heard that Hartlett will be given every oppotunity to hold down CHF and alternating sometimes with waitey at CHB

But think of the savings on stationery!

There are plenty of players who we could devlop into chf's. Waite, Setanta, Kreuzer, Hampson. Cloke. You don't need a superstar CHF to be successful. WC, Sydney and Geelong don't have a superstar CHF. They play as a team, and when everyone contributes, you generally win a flag. The exception to this rule is Colonwood.

Hope he is a better ruck coach than ruckman

There's plenty of Premiership Coaches who were pretty ordinary players.

When you're acknowledged as one of Carlton's best ever coaches, it pretty much goes without saying that you're also one of the AFL's best coaches. 16 Premierships will do that for you.
