If the club doesn't have copies of these items, they should snaffle them up I reckon, for when a 3D Blueseum gets off the ground.

:-D

on the 1935 membership ticket, the logo (which looks really good) has the words 'Carlton Oval' written on it. is that princes park or something completely different?

It's the surrounding park that is actually named Princes Park - the ovals themselves have had the different names over time.

I have a badge with our logo on it and the words 'the fighting blues' written underneath - anyone know how old that would be?

I stand to be corrected, but I believe the (official ?) name for the ground is the Carlton Recreation Reserve.

The bold text and capital letters in the street directory says Princes Park - but does has a lighter text saying Carlton Recreational Reserve. The parkland takes in the tennis courts and bowling green. There are 3 ovals in the park.

The logo on the back of the 1935 ticket is interesting...different to the wreathe and 'mens sana in corpore sano' that we are used to.

Would be interesting to know when the different logos were brought in.

In theory, would supporters be interested in donating money (tax deductible) into an account run by the club which has the purpose of purchasing pieces of memorabilia (like these and the Deacon portrait) for the club?

Just asking. 8)

in the melways it has Carlton Cricket Ground over the actual footy ground we train on, it has Carlton Recreation Reserve just towards its north (the field you used to kick on before walking intot he ground) and it has Princes Park written directly below it on a little oval (i'm guessing that's where they play the cricket).

If my memory is correct the club had a full collection of Membership cards, donated I think by a family who used them. Unfortunately a number were stolen a few years ago and Carlton made an insurance claim.

A few years later the cards were recovered, but became the property of the Insurance company - because of the claim. The club couldn't afford to buy the cards back, I'm not sure what happened to them after that.

Yes and the AFL want to make it a 30 team competition the way they going. It should be 12 teams and the most successful Victorian teams in it.

I reckon the 6 most powerful should breakaway with the 2 WA and 2 SA along with Brisbane and another team from the Gold Coast and that be called the National Australian Football League while the Rest be in a second rate comp.

something like that will happen eventually, the AFL will piss everyone off so much that rambo's prediction will come true
