Of course, Pratt's removal would be a loss for football but one that it must demand. Pratt is a successful businessman and enriches our community.

Well then what's the problem? 8)

This man is obsessed with RP. I think he needs somethign else to do over the summer. Every time I hear him or read him he's talking about him. Let it go Pat. Let it go! Sheesh! Enough!

the more he speaks, the more he embarrasses himself. Yes it was the wrong thing, but at waht point after having been fined do you let someone try to atone for their wrongs? apparently never according to this man, himself having brought his own game into disrepute as a chucker and a bully. Nice patrick, considering you were never a footballer.

He's obsessed with Carlton. Jealousy and hate does that to a person (and I use the term loosely when talking about Smith).

The article is a page of inuendo, puff and speculation.

As Shakespeare said "All sound and fury, signifying nothing"

Smith sitting at home thinking about what to write:

"Bugger! Another column? But I submitted a couple of scribbled paragraphs on my McDonalds napkin on Monday! What, (belch), am I going to write about today? North? Nah, I've done that the last 3 times, Horse Racing? Golf? Hah, no one will notice. I know, I'll go back to the Pratt well. It's about time I gave it another run, (louder belch). What angle will I use? how about I ask the AFL office boy a question he can't answer and build the story around that? Something like "Adrian, I have heard, (from myself!) that someone from the AFL has approached Pratt to quietly step aside. Is that true?" He won't be able yes or no and that will give me the chance to rant illogically for at least 6 paragraphs. Hell, I'll even throw in the old "bringing the game into disrepute" line. It practically writes itself! Hang on, who's nicked my bloody fries?"

Have you watched him write, Stretty? That sounds too accurate to be made up.

It's easy KK. Just close your mind to rational thought, become incredibly bitter and the words just flow naturally!

I've had enough of this guy. He is bringing the game into disrepute by not letting the issue rest.

His constant begging of the AFL to take action against Pratt will achieve nothing.

Mods, please delete this if it is inappropriate. But here is Smith's email address at the Australian. Feel free to let him know what you think.

Dear Blimp, do something constructive, enrol in a gym course, ride a bike , eat sensibly, walk the dog, or vice versa.
Go swimming, go to buggery, go get a life.

PS If you must find something to ''write'' about, how about a critique on
Murali's action. Or maybe that's a bit to close to home .

Fatprick's employer wouldn't bother reading his emails. However the number of emails Fatprick receives may be noticed, and as a result his employer make consider the high number of emails (complaints) as popularity.

Forget him. Ignore him. His hissy fits are boring now. Same old, same old. He'll fall on his sword.

KK refers to the hot air eloquently

We all know he's a sad excuse for a human being.
Ignore im.
Boycott him
But don't give him any attention; he's a lonely attention seeker.
He has no shame.
Shame Shame Shame

It must be a slow news days in AFL, its not like a club is fighting for its future in Melbourne today.

The man really has his finger on the pulse on whats happening in football.

He is irrelevant, let him grind his Carlton axe forever, it doesn't matter, he is just a crackpot. Joffa is more fair and balanced than All Beef Patty.

It used to annoy me but now I realise that he is trying to influence an outcome at AFL HQ but no one is listening to him.

No one of any importance is hearing him on this matter.

All other media have dropped the matter because it is a non story.

I would be gobsmacked if anyone made mention or alluded to Qantas deflecting attention away from Pratt.

There is nothing much happening in cricket or golf, so he is trying to justify his pay pack and doing a stellar job of it!

As Buzza said, he is now embarrassing himself and absolutely NO ONE wants to talk to him about it at CFC or the AFL.

I can pretty much guarantee that this is what Patrick Smith is thinking:

"Pratt will step aside at the end of the 2008 season anyway, as per his initial 2 year committment.

If I hammer away at this 'issue' in the meantime, I'll be able to claim credit for my one-man crusade against evil, and further my claim as a real (not just a shock-jock) journalist."

The man is a worm.

Don't be surprised if that email address doesn't work. ;)

As far as Patrick Smith goes, I thought that article actually had a quite a bit of balance.

He went into much more detail about Pratt's good points than he ever has before (that I've seen anyway).

Why would the league be hoping he goes quietly?? This is where Smith is so out of touch.

The AFL will be hoping indeed that this issue does quietly go away WITH Pratt as president. Why would they want Pratt to go when he has dragged a club from the depths to a position where they do not have to worry anymore?? ……… and now they have another super club almost up and firing.
