i saw big nick play - but toward the end. probably a little hyped up as time passes, but he was a legend. i've picked diesel because i was old enough to make a judgment when he was playing, but Nichols was captain/coach/300+ games... and that's not hype

I saw Nick play at the peak of his powers, trust me, there was no hype about Big John he was the real deal.
