My new nomination for Footy Forums Cliche of the Year.

I swear if I hear it one more time, I think I'll throw up!!!

So far, it's a make or break year for just about everyone on our list.

I can't wait for someone to say that it's a make or break year for Kreuzer.....

While it may be a MOBY for Kreuzer, I've heard he is in the box seat for the NRS.

So Mosche25, not that I use that cliche, but how would you prefer to describe the fortunes of players on contract till end of 2008?

How about for the following 2 distinctive groups?

GROUP 1: Those on Carlton's list for more than 2 years and contract expires end 2008:

Wiggins
Bannister
Saddington
Bentick
Russell
Hartlett
Blackwell
Ackland
Cloke

GROUP 2: New recruits whose contract will expire end 2008:

Jamison
Anderson
Grigg
Benjamin
Austin

With reference to GROUP 1, I prefer to suggest that players in this group

"are playing for their career in 2008 because...", or,
"must show more value to remain on the Carlton list beyond 2008 or...".

I understand what the term 'playing for their career' implies, and have no problem with the cliche, I do have a problem with whom they subject that to, without giving their reasons.

As for Group 2, I think it's a crime to suggest anything of the sort without very strong reason, such as, character, commitment, drug abuse, attitude issues. In other words puts the jumper in disrepute.

Thanks 10/10, that's what I've been informed of too!

Like Donstuie....I hope it's true. It better be true...or stick him in the Ants reserves till he gets sick of it and chooses to leave. :-D

He has disgraced himself and the jumper.

I hope he doesn't win the NRS. It will just add more pressure.

I love the fact that Murph and Gibbs have not won it.

There's enough pressure on these boys with the job at hand, and that job is the greatest any young player has had to face due to our unique postion.

No more meaningless wins in 2008. We need access to the best young talent in the land.

It's a make or break year for Ackland.

If he can't cement himself at CHF then it's 'break'.

I think it's 'break'!
