What's happen to the magazine, just wondering as i thought there is 3 Issues in the year?

I've only seen the 1 so far with Lance Whitnall along with Murphy and Gibbs on the cover. I thought the smaller size looks better,at least it doesn't get folded and damaged when some bozo the clown shove it without care in the letterbox.

At least it isn't as bad as some bozo handling packages sent from overseas that look like a elephant sat on it and then you wonder why it's cracked and damaged.

You guys should be thankful you ever got one. In 6 years of membership I never have (despite numerous calls to the club).

I reckon us not receiving the mag is very poor and unprofessional. We as members in good faith hand over good money for a product and you cannot stop providing something - the mag in this instance.

I am sure members would understand if they told us the reason for not sending the mag ie cost cutting, but why include it in the membership then. They did this last year as well and I ignored it but I cannot see an excuse this year.

I am taking this up with the club for sure. I really enjoy the mag.

The smaller edn was much better, didn't feel like it was as blatant in its propaganda.

Not sure how often it was to be sent out. Despite being smaller, it felt like it had a lot more content, so maybe there are fewer to be sent each year?

If I recall correctly, we got the smaller one pre-season when Swann signed on and there was none published during mid season.

Assuming we still publish it, we should be getting another one in February 2008.

I'm pretty sure the 2008 membership info pack mentions the magazine in it. I'll study it again tonight to be sure.

I wish they'd save the money and put it somewhere else. As with all club magazines its just a waste of space.

How about they put the money from the mags into a better website, maybe a members only section that you have to sign into and put the crap stories in there.

Not only would you be saving money you'd be helping the environment. We are a green club now aren't we

Yes we may the be Green Blues but I'm not convinced that a website is any more green than a paper magazine. Computers chew quite a bit of energy too.

Regardless, I recieved one copy in 2007 of the mag.

BTW The thread about TC being quoted on draft information got me thinking
Does/would TC advertise in the mag? Could there be a contribution of quotes from TC (possibly with permission from posters or the club as to content).

If not in the mag somewhere else, can't think where right now :?

Would the club be happy to publisize TC's existance since we a *only* a fan based website?

Anyway there are my rambling for this arvo....

Received only the one mag in Sydney, with Lance on the cover.

Great size, doesn't take up much space and has been on the coffee table all year, whilst my wife's monthly intake of about 40 magazines (Aust & OS) are constantly changed monthly/ weekly/ bi monthly (depending on the circulation).

It's great for visitors who need a team to barrack for when they haven't got one....you know...brainwashing icebreaker.

"would you like me to read you the history of this great club, or would you like to buy a membership?" is usually quite effective.

Ever heard of the one about too many eggs in one basket.

Not everyone gets onto the internet. It is also good to have an archive of the different periods of Carlton.

If your internet is down or the AFL site is down (happens too often) how can you find out how old a player is?

Let's not be too relient on the internet. Besides what would you rather be doing while waiting to be seen by the dentist, keeping up with the latest news on the web or reading a five year old back issue of Inside Carlton?

Your answer is back issue of Inside Carlton.......Think about it....

Does anyone remember the old fashioned Blues News from the 80s? - newspaper style, blue print. Delivered monthly in the post? I'd be happy for something more regular and in depth than the flashy full colour magazines. Much quicker turn-around, cheaper to print... Bring em back I say!

No,i don't mind not getting the 3 issues as long we get one with all the players profile like they did with this issue.

It's a nice reminder of who played in that year or was in the list that i can look back in 10,20 or longer, kind of a family album.I like to keep that one,not fuss with the others, they just a good read.

Don't get me with saving the environment,we don't throw away our photos that we develop, but i agree it's not a big deal with the issues after the 1st one,but what happen if your a member and have no Internet access.

As long we get one issue, flashy full colour magazines like the one we got this year with it.I'm not too fuss with all the extra stuff that i never use, like keyrings or that pin or stickers that get removed. I didn't mind that wallet to put your card in. it

Yes i think so also,i think there will be 2 issues for the year as it makes sense. One for the start of the Season and one after the Rookie and Pre Season Draft to discuss the Season and who came to the club.

I think the Mid Season is not needed, just a bonus, when there was 3 issues.

The end of year ones were quite good with a good summary of all the scores, goal kickers, best players, stats, B&F votes, retirees, draftees, coaches report etc. which I've generally kept (though some recent years weren't worth remembering!)
