Vale George.

Your contribution has been immense, and we, the current generation of carlton supporters, who grew up in the glory days, following on from your stewardship, owe you an enourmous debt. You made our winters fun and our springs glorious. We grew up as champions, and that has affected us all throughout our lives.

Thanks mate.

And I promise you this - we will beat the filth by less than a goal in the future, and every time we do, we'll be thinking of you.

R.I.P Mr Harris.

R.I.P George Harris.

Thank you for everything you have done for my beloved club. It is greatly appreciated.

Now the competition really doesn't stand a chance with Big G up in the Navy Blue control room..

RIP George Harris

Quote:
But Harris will always be remembered as the man who formed Carlton’s famed Progress Party, and swept into power as President with the firm mandate of reviving the sad fortunes of a proud club which had plummeted to its then worst-ever standing of tenth in its Centenary season of 1964.

Sad to think that this year we are aiming for tenth - and if we get there there will be backslapping all around!

Thankyou George and R.I.P.

I was born into an incredibly envious source of pride that is the Carlton Football Club thanks in large part to your work.

We'll do our best to uphold your legacy and make you proud.

Did great things for Carlton, but also loved his work for the CIA too in arranging non-existent loans for the Whitlam government to bring it down.

The most influential person in the history of our great club. Pretty much single-handedly dragged us from mediocrity to the most successful, powerful and respected club in the modern era.

George Harris did a great thing, and he'll always be remembered for it.

The rest of us should be so lucky.

RIP George. And by the way, I always enjoyed sitting in your stand at Princes Park. Especially when we came home with a wet sail (which was most weeks).

Geez..... he was almost ahead of his time wasn't he?

Was he the first president to do the whole 'poaching' thing?

RIP. He led a good life.

Vale George....I was lucky to meet you and talk with you a few times...

..a true visionary before your time, and you were the catalyst for our

great Club's revival, and the establishment of the CFC as a Super

Power......an absolute legend sadly missed.

RIP George, I too met you a few times...you were my hero.

I'll never forget his dream in '79 to make us a Manchester United type of club/brand before it was even thought of in the UK.

Unfortunately Rice won the election at Festival Hall that night....what a depressing night with all that raaamatazz....vey USA style presidential candidate won....George and Jezza left...we would have won 4 in a row if George was still in the driver's seat...his making too!

All George wanted is for CFC to never return to a dark period.

Whenever the club was in need, George was there. For those that don't know about him, think of Dick Pratt and what he's done for the club in 2007...now multiply that 10 fold. Dick would back that!

Visionary

Passionate

Blue Blood

You will always be alive in our Dark Navy Blue hearts

Thank you for being you

Sad news about a great Carlton man and he will be missed, held office during a golden era of the clubs history and has to take a lot of credit for our success.....
Agree with Bondi he was a bit of a visionary and would more than held his own with todays administrators
However on a brighter note I'm glad to see TC's version of George Harris is still with us.....
