GH was Pres in 1968 when I saw my first Blues Premiership. He lured Barrassi to Carlton in 1965 & turned this great club around.

Thank you George. R.I.P.

A very sad when you lose an absolute giant of the game.

Condolences to his family and may he forever rest in peace.

For those of you not old enough to have been around in the golden era of the 70's & 80's I will help you understand what this man was to Carlton.

He was he true escence of what Carlton became and what those who lived that era talk about becoming once more ........

PROUD

PASSIONATE

UNCOMPROMISING

ARROGANT

FEARED BY ALL OTHERS

PREMIERS

Quite simply ...... he put the CARLTON into CARLTON

Probably the greatest Carlton person to grace the club

Vale George Harris ......... Lest We Forget

The rumours of my death are greatly exaggerated!

I'm posting from Blue Heaven.

P.S. RIP the real one. I wouldn't have given myself that username without him having been an icon of the club and a man worthy of respect.

Condolences to family and friends. A Carlton man through and through who did a lot for the club. Sadly missed by all who knew him.

Yeah a great loss for the fabric of our club.

Which cell block was your dad in Fevolution?

You're not serious are you Jimbo? :?

He/his computer was online at 9.22am this morning!

I don't scan everything on this site...

And Santa Claus is for real too...

He was mute you know. Makes sense he might have been an avid computer user. Anyway not the thread.

My thoughts are still with the Harris family.

RIP. :(

http://www.realfooty.com.au/news/news/a ... 10149.html

Quote:
In February this year, Harris sent a letter to struggling Carlton urging the club to "please get your act together", adding: "I wish I could help. I can't, but my heart is still strong and it will always remain true Blue."

Funeral arrangements are yet to be announced, but the service will be held at Carlton's home ground.

"What's better than beating Collingwood by 10 goals? Beating them by five points."

Didn't Harris say Carlton would give Barassi 31 at Carlton when quizzed about downhearted Melbourne supporters with 31 on their jumpers?

RIP Mr Harris...

A man who orchestrated the Blues revival in the 70s passes away on the verge of the Carlton resurgence of the present day... Your spirit lives on and I hope the new recruits to the club understand what it means to be part of a club with an amazing history...

RIP George.
Condolences to the family.

Didnt know he had been in Changi.
Anyone who could survive that, deserves the best in life.

As an obvious Carlton man, he would have been very happy with the
resurgence that is coming.

If the afterlife allows any interference in day to day life then George will be feverishly networking and pulling strings to ensure that his beloved Blues are swiftly returned to the top of the mountain.

GO BLUES
