That was about the time that I started to be online, I think that was the event that actually led me to find TBV and CSC and then start hanging out at TBV.

Same for me - it was the penalties that ended up with me finding TBV - I remember still being optimistic about our survival and even on-field success under Pagan - I was a bit naive at the time I guess.

Gee that was a shit night.

Sharing my pain with a hundred+ others online helped. A little.

It's only now that I can read/hear the names Goddard and Wells without feeling like vomiting.

Ditto...plus the other 4 early picks we would have drafted

...and doesn't it feel good to have that weight lifted.

The Pratt/Mokbel comparison was pretty tame in comparison to some of that.

My apologies to Hitler, Bin Laden, Hussein and Mussolini for putting them in such disgusting company. :P

The only good thing that came of that night was Mrs Caz letting me know of Rockford Basket Press. I am now in love and have a few bottles to enjoy.

What Mrs Caz doesn't know is that I purchased a Shiraz fortified Port from Rockfords and it's gathering a bit of dust. Should be ready to be opened when we win a Flag. Boy will it taste great in around 3 years. Question is, can I wait that long??????????????

When we win No 17, Mr & Mrs Caz, I promise to crack it open.

Who could forget such trivial times.... I was there.

The funny thing is: Would you take those picks or whould you leave things the way they are??

Would those picks have sent us into a longer limbo of complaicency?

I think we have been compensated as well as one could honestly hope for.

We have Pratt making us stronger than ever, without just opening his cheque book.

We have Judd, Gibbs, Murphy, Walker, Kruezer and many more promesing players.

I wouldn't want to be anywhere else with the way it has all panned out.

 I forgot about that! I'm very jealous of your collection.

What a horrid night that was. I ended up going to bed before the announcement came, so thankfully I missed that part of it.

On a positive note, it was all the drama going on that led me to CSC and TBV. I was living in the Middle East at the time, so the internet was my only source of information.

In the same way that chaos theory allowed us to get a successful committee earlier this year, I feel that maybe we're going to have far more success over the next decade than we could've otherwise hoped for.

A crap playing list is evolving into a sustainable powerhouse.

But I'll never forget my sense of bewilderment on Black Friday.

Imagine if you said to us then, that in 5 years time, we would sign Hyundai to what is reported as the most lucrative sponsorship in AFL history, nab the best player in the AFL via a trade and have three consecutive #1 picks...

8) 8)

Interesting point.

Goddard, Wells and Kane Tenace/Kepler Bradley have all been dissapointing (we may have taken Brock McLean instead of either Tenace/Bradley??). However recruiting these players probably would have done enough to result in us missing out on Murphy, Gibbs, Kreuzer and Judd.

As John said the only bearable thing about that night was knowing everybody else on TBV was feeling just as devastated and sharing your pain.
