I just want him to realise his full potential so i'd be having a serious heart to heart and then deciding what's best for both the team and himself.

Setanta definite CHB.
Waite to roam up and down the wings ala Kouta '95. :)

spot on.

setanta = CHB, Jamo = FB (rotating with thornton if he cant handle bigger opponents).

rotate between CHF and flank. More time on flank as he is difficult to match up on & might stop HBF running off

Exactly. Waite = natural wingman for mine.

Ratts could use Waite to cause some real match up headaches for opposition coaches in 08. I reckon he's a natural forward/wingman, not tight enough to play KPP down back, but makes a great 3rd man up around half back if needed.

CHB for mine.

Quality forwards either kick goals or set them up. Waite doesn't have the skills or smarts to do either of these on a regular basis IMO.

There's not much choice AFAIC. Waite has to be played at CHF. Watch any game where Fev is the lone forward and he has to compete with 3 blokes. Lance may have been shit and JK young, but both required a tall defender to mark them, Fisher is rarely a target in his own right and players will sit off him to jump in front of Fev. Waite is a guy who can out run and out mark most defenders, he commands a quality match up; If he plays fwd the team will operate better.

Setanta showed enough to suggest that CHB is within his ability, and put Thornton to full back, he plays better with more responsibility.

Good point; I think you're right 944.

I also expect him to be a bit stronger in 2008. He may just make that position his own, (depends on Ratts) but I do like Jamo's closing speed and spoiling ability from behind more than Thornton.

I think 2007 may be a wake up call for Thornton; I was a bit disappointed in him this year.

He is a good defender, and he's been a good find from the rookie list.
