There's also the possibility that we may be able to snap up a decent defender in the psd too, which would certainly help.

Anderson Setanta T Bird

Walker*/Grigg/Russell Jamieson Bower

*Can also play Walker on a wing or through the middle and id like to see him up forward abit this year too.
Setanta will be best at FB this year so he has the play completely ahead of him....

Then id start thinking about him at CHB.

Id also try Aisake at CHB at some stage this year...

Austin will also be very good when he gets hic chance.

I would rotate Judd, Gibbs & Murphy in the back pocket :)

Would vary depending on the key forwards of the opposition. jamison would get a permanent spot in defense but to shove him at full back, as skinny as he is, would be laughable at this stage.

Jamison- Third tall defender
Setanta O'hAilpin- Power forwards and resting ruckman
Thornton- Secondary tall forwards or HFF/FP livewires
Waite- Athletic CHFs (aka Riewoldt/Pavlich)

Waite and Setanta would rotate through defense/midfield/forward depending on the oppositions forward structure.

I would also give Adnerson a chance to play on opposition small forwards, and Bower a bit of a rebound defense role with the occasional big job just to help his education along.

Ryan Jackson would be in my starting 18.

I would be happy for him to be hbflank or on the wing.

He has the makings.

Joey's an interesting one. Looks as though he's physically filling out and I wonder how that might effect his agility and pace to play on the best oppositions small forwards :?:
Could he grow enough to take on the likes of Braddy Johnson or Russell Roberston or Daniel Bradshaw ?...

Setanta & Waitey to take the oppositions best KPFs.

Jamison at FB - showed a bit at the end of this year. Good pace, has an ability to keep up with forwards on leads.

Setanta at CHB - they need to find a position for him, and leave him there, and I think CHB could be it. Can be creative, give run, and doesn't need to be as 'precise' with his football smarts (eg on a leading full forward) as he does at FB.

Thornton on third tall.

We need Waite at CHF now that Kennedy and Whitnall are gone.

Ditto

If Bower can step up this year we may be able to release the reliable and quick Walker into the midfield.

Yep, "me too" with Ziggy and Bondi.

I'll add:

1. I'm hearing Jamo can't bulk up as much as we'd like due to shoulder surgery. Still the case?

2. Saw Santy play a few times at CHB for Ants and he looked the goods. He convinced me he was a key backman for the future. CHB = Santy.

Bower in my best 22, but still like Walks across half back. He can play on so many types of forwards - a unique unit.

Everytime he gets us out of trouble and/or runs the ball out of the backline, I'm so grateful he's back there. He's a unit allright. Maybe, just maybe someone can step up and continue Walker's legacy at HB. Maybe one of Grigg/ Russell/Anderson or maybe even Hadley...or even Fenaroli one day

Walker as a defensive midfielder who slips under everone's guard (with his sheer pace) into the forwardline and kicks a few goals is worth dreaming about.
