This is not a mass market buy at k-mart promotion, it is pitched to the top end of the supporter base. If you think it is too expensive, then you are in the wrong end of the store...Who says money can't buy happiness ?

Yeah but how much does it cost to get there by boat with the cargo?

Business class cargo though....and if I just watch the safari on DVD

Might be getting more to my price range

Same here.

I always ask for the exit asile or the last couple of rows towards the tail where the seats go from 3 to 2.

Next year though, Qantas is offering premium economy. Higher price, but well worth it.

I love Qantas. I know it has it's knockers and it's frequent flyer program aint worth a pinch of shit but i still love em.

Instead of charging fat people extra for taking up two seats, they should charge the well-endowed for poking into the backs of the people in front of them.

are economy seats bigger on international flights than say on a qantas domestic flight?

im more concerned about the gaps between the seats - im tall and cant imagine flying more than 5 hours crammed in a seat

as you can tell ive never been overseas and why i so easily am attracted to business class

Forget Economy mate.......the last time I flew to London was with Qantas in Economy....never ever again....it's Business or nothing for us !

that was my thought

Being 6'3" You will always get exit row if you check in early enough on the day of travel. It is NEVER allocated before travel inspite of what you may hear elsewhere. As long as you're able-bodied, it can only be guaranteed on the day of travel.

Qantas has terrible seats, but in all seriousness international cabins are far more comfortable. I recently travelled on Air New Zealand to the States in economy and was shocked at the large amount of leg room which I think was due to a far more efficient thinner seat. It was a little harder but more ergomonic and from a guy with a spinal-fusion, far more comfortable at the other end. Singapore have a fantastic economy cabin and if you were going to J'burg, it's no way near as bad heading to asia first than those of us on the east coast. Emirates are another fantastic carrier and would be another alternative. South African fly direct from Perth to J'Burg (as you probably know) and although are a cruddy airline, cut down flying time significantly. Yet for the sheer pleasure of movies and grog and the joy of being 30,000ft in air (still marvelling at technology even after flying many times a year) I'd personally pay more, and even fly for a little longer if it meant a newer aircraft with a superior cabin. That said, Business Class or nothing is stupid...travelling for me provides the most fun I can have in life. At 27 it isn't easing off...

If we can afford to fly Business Class.......why is it stupid?......... :?

And if it's stupid; should people who fly First Class be locked up in an asylum?

they are!

i was serious in my earlier post on this topic - why can't a couple of tickets be raffled off so people without a big bank account/credit card limit can have a chance of going?

maybe the top end of town would object to have the workers going along as well?

Great idea but I have to wonder if Carlton would be welcome over in Ireland right now...

Why wouldn't they be?

Cause we nick their players? Or is it because of the Fevola thing......

The Fevola thing would be forgotten about. I love that about the irish. You can go out to a pub, get pissed, fight some dude, and then end up best mates a few months later.

It's all good Craic......... am i right Beanno?

To be perfectly honest most people would show up to get a look at fev,

We know more than most what it's like, a few drinks, a bit of a wrestel, no harm done, not like the english.

And as far as Carlton nicking our players, its realyl only officials who badmouth it, most boys say best of luck, would sell loads of tickets especially if marketed from an Irish angle with so many there and at swannies.

An idea of the top of my head, carlton cheapo jumpers with the carlton logo and an Irish flag on the chest and pick form numbers and names on the back from O'hAilpin, Shields, Quigley, Beano, whatever. Mini membership packs with something special on offer like a free ticket to a game if they are in OZ, so many Irish backpackers = $$$$$$$ for the blues.

Qantas' economy seats are the same on the B737-400, B737-800, B767-300ER, A330-300 and B747-400/-400ER - which serve ALL their flight number tagged flights. Pitch (the distance between rows) are different.

I don't mind the seats just in front of the bulkhead because you can recline fully often more than normal.

For good airlines, try Emirates, Singapore, Cathay Pacific. QF is really quite poor compared with their competition). It's their FF scheme that keeps a lot of mums and dads flying QF because quite a lot of them fly QF for work and rack up points for the annual family holiday.

Great post Beano apart from names on Guernseys but that a personal opinion. I doubt that this game would happen but if it did i'd def go

Yeah but the names on jumpers thing is for age group like 6-16/17.
How many Corkonians do you reckon would go for one of them , even mam's & Dad's to wear in Croker for the Rebels notching up another Hurling AI or being walloped by the Dubs at the football.
Not to mention Kerrymen buring up swans jumpers as well, massive, thats a word used a lot recently, potential.

Pffft...please use your brain Warby! I'm saying the notion of business class or nothing is stupid. In instances where you cannot afford business class, does it then justify not travelling at all???? I'm fortunate as working in the industry on some occassions allows me to experience the pleasure of the far better classes, but I certainly would not stop travelling if I was stuck in cattle class.

Anyone have any information, or can get information on options to watch the Carlton / Fremantle match in Pretoria early next month?

Far fetched, but what if the club recorded it and made it available for download in a decent quality (~1Gb) format.

I for sure would download it and watch it.
