With Virgin Blue announcing they are the first airline to go green and our club following suit, is there a possibility Virgin Blue could come on board as corporate or even major sponsor.

There has been talk about a so called 'airline sponsorship', and some talk about Optus not a certainty to be a major sponsor next year unless we can not find a another partner. True or not, but thats what i have heard.

I know that VISY are big supporters of Al Gores global warmimg message, even paying rights to use his 'inconvenient truth' for there own presentation to some of the worlds biggest organisations ie coca cola and the likes. Anthony and Richard Pratt have entertained Al Gore here and in the US with Anthony forming a strong relationship with Al.

Al Gore has formed an alliance with Richard Branson (Virgin Blue) to help solve global warming issue. Could all three parties come together and form a force in Australia to get the message across about this issue???

What a great example the club could demonstrate and imagine the amount corporates who would jump on board to associate themselves in this strong alliance.

Oh well, that's Virgin Blue off the list of potential sponsors.

virgin blue as a cost cutting airline rarely throw there money into sponsorship

Could very well be on the cards...
Virgin Blue recently (2007) put their money behind South Sydney in the NRL.
Maybe looking for a door into the AFL market

i'm not saying its on the cards, just got me thinking when i seen a ad on tv promoting virgin blue going green.

i have plenty of time on my hands, im recovering from a knee reco and out of work for a few more weeks.

God help us all.

The average amount of flying people do does not outweigh the amount that we put into the atmosphere on average by driving alone in our cars.



Blatantly untrue. Just because they cut costs in the air doesn't mean that they cut their marketing costs. If anything, their marketing budget is what arguably gets them their revenue. I think your view on what a low-cost airline is is way off the mark.
