OK - This is gonna sound slighty Gay and girly but i'll tell ya's anyway!

As you all know..................... i am a MASSIVE Kouta fan. Love him to death. Never met him thou. Have always been to scared and shy (like a little girl really.)

Anyways. I've had some bad health problems in the past 4 years. My lungs were in bad shape and collapsed 3 times forcing me to have my right lung litterally stuck to the lining of my ribcage (trust me, it's more common than it sounds).

I never had good health & Fitness wise, i was in poor shape. So about 6 months after that opperation i decided to get into shape.

Anyway. 2 years on, and i have FINALLY hit the 3.18km's mark without my lung hurting too much. I run around Princess Park now at a time of about 17min.

Today when i was running, my lung was KILLING me. You can feel it swell up and rub against the side of your ribs. Very painfull.

I was about 1.5km from the finish (Just outside the entrance to Optus Oval) and was just about to give up when Kouta passes me with somebody else (Dunno who).

Geez he's big. I'm 6foot 3inch but i felt like 5foot nuthin as he passed me.

So i decided to try and keep up with him regargless of the pain and would you believe it................... i did! :o
AND.................... I eclipsed my best time by almost a minute. Can you bloody believe it.

I kept u with kouta following him about 3mtrs behind (poor guy probably thought i was stalking him) every step of the way after he passed me.

Admitedly i collapsed to the ground once i made it and he just kept on going but god it was good to run with him. Such a thrill and i was so happy afterwards that i barely felt the pain in my chest......................

Twas a good day today............

Hey good stuff Ryan! Good on ya for not giving up mate!

I bumped into Kouta once too, and yes he is big. I am 5ft 7 so if you felt like nothing...imagine me!

I felt like Froddo from Lord of the rings.

Cheers guys.

Yeah, it was a Huge thrill. Sounds slightly gay but watching him run was just awesome. Being so close to an athlete like that is such an experience.

Running around the Blues home ground with one of their greatest ever players........... bloody hell, just awesome.

3.1km's isn;t that far. Most of my mates do min 5km. But after a while, my lung hurts bad. It swells up and it's like a bruise that somebody is squeezing.
Sometimes i make it with ease, other times it hurts just after i start.

But Kouta just made me wanna keep running. :-)

If i see him there again, i might be brave enough to say thanks. (Maybe!)

Hey VB, possibly not the thread for that thinking.

Well done Ryan - it really reinforces the strong role that some players have for people and if Kouta inspired you to keep running then that's fantastic.
