When i look at this picture, unfortunatly i don't see a Carlton champion, and i probably should.

But i just can't.

Lance came in and filled a huge void when sticks left and did a good job of it too. He had all the characteristics of a champion, but fell away a few years back.

You could blame Denis for playing him out of position (i never liked him down back).
You could blame it on the toll of his injuries which is just bad luck.
You could blame it on a lot of things but sadly, i think Lance has mainly himself to blame on this one.

And maybe that's the reason i can't look at him and say "He was a Carlton Champion".

Very Sad.

Anyway Lance. Best luck for the future. I hope that you are in some way still involved with Football. Your knowledge of the game is too good to go to waste.
