Was a very vocal supporter of our former red-headed captain during the will-he wont-he be traded years, too.

This whole thing astounds me.

When was the price fixing scam? 2001 wasnt it?

When did Pratt take over as Carlton president?

What sickens me is that people continue to bury their heads in the sand over Ben Cousins, @#$%&! me there are topics on Bigfooty about him going to the Swans next year    and an equal amount of topics on Pratt the cheat.

Maybe Pratt should hit the viagra to earn everybodys praise? FFS

put it this way, his fit enough to run a multi-billion dollar company but not a football club?? wheres the logic in that??

That's a PRIVATE company i.e. he owns it. As if he's going to sack himself as unfit to run a company????

Let's face it. If he was Collingwood President we would all be calling for his head.

both today's rags[age /sun] are merely speculating for a story & shite stir-up---1/ patrick keane & demetriou[who spoke to swann yesterday] indicated that there's NOTHING in the agenda for ALF'S commission 2/ swann dismisses it having checked with ALF/DEMETRIOU saying they'd know about it at CFC given it's a week away from the commission meeting & there's no substance to the articles as far as the club's concerned----MERELY STIRRING REPORTERS TRYING TO NOT LET THE FACTS GET IN THE WAY OF A GOOD STORY

The whole footy world is slowly realising that we are 7 tenths of the way back and they are beginning to shite themselves. They are looking at anything to try and halt our momentum. I love that everyone hates us again.

To all who kicked us over the past 5 years, and it was many, prepare to take your medicine.

I say to the AFL, get your own house in order, the way you have dealt with the Kangaroos and Ben Cousins/West Coast in recent weeks is nothing short of a disgrace. Deal with the major issues before trying to rape us again.

This is just a media campaign from both Fairfax and News ltd.

They make most of it up as they go along. Todays headline in The Age:

Quote:
Pratt may lose his award and Carlton presidency

but funny enough this in the article:

Quote:
While suggestions last night that Pratt could be brought before the AFL Commission next Monday, to defend himself against a charge of bringing the game into disrepute, were effectively dismissed by the league, the possibility that he could face the commission at a later date was not.

A spokesman for AFL chief executive, Andrew Demetriou, said that the question of Pratt's suitability for AFL office was not on the commission's agenda "at this point".

Hmmm. so in other words the whole story as reported yesterday and stirred by The Age is BS. But COULD be true AT A LATER DATE.....

and then:

Quote:
What is known, however, is that rules for cancelling membership of the Order of Australia were gazetted in mid-September by Governor-General Michael Jeffrey, six weeks before Pratt admitted to the existence of the cartel and the case brought against Visy by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission.

Oh, so the rules have been looked at and because of that Pratt is going to loose the award. Complete fabrication......

so it's ok to have an addiction, not admit to it, go to rehab and have it covered in the salary cap, then fly to another country, binge on illicit drugs, be admitted to hospital by police, then enter rehab, then fly home to enter rehab, and it's ok to have a night out with a murderer and shoot at police, but it's not ok to admit to a dodgy business practice, pay the appropriate fine and be president of a football club? And this is just in the last 12 months.

I think I need to lie down...

Flower off Demetriou you puffed up, slimy toad - just because you are in the process of holding a gun to North members' heads don't think you can do the same to us.

Aaaaahhhhhhhh let him face the Commission. It will go something like this:

AFL Commission: "Sir Richard, are you a fit and proper person to be the President of the Carlton Football Club?"

Sir Richard: "Flower oath I am. In a tad under 12 months I have turned this place from a rabble, with more debts than Edward McGuire has chins, brought in the best player in the land, stole the best CEO from those scumbags at the end of the eastern freeway and signed one of our biggest sponsorships ever. You pricks are going to have one of the big four Victorian clubs back in action meaning more money lining your pockets. Oh, and not to mention we have now overcome the most riddicu-flower-lous penalties handed down by you flowering mongrels.

So yeah, why don't you go and get flowered and and leave me and my club the flower alone."

AFL Commission: "Thanks Sir Richard. All the best next season. You are dismissed. Please feel free to leave.....and ask Mr Cousins to come in".

Sir Richard: "Cheers, thanks Fitzy. You right for tennis on Thursday night?"

What someone does in their private life, providing it doesn't hurt any third party, should be no business of the AFL's. :)

When the reigning Premiers get Salary cap exemption for the cost of his "rehab" and my club gets penalised back to the dark ages for paying over this magical cap number.

It's probably just Bartlett wanting him to step down. God his a tool.

The sooner that old knob is out of that station the better.............and he can take his "I'm right and your wrong" wiener of a boyfriend (patrick smith) with him too.

It was Smith that said the "harmed a nation" line.

While he does go pretty hard, and perhaps overboard, on Pratt. He probably does have a point, to a degree. It's not a good look. The fact that none of these issues happened during his tenure at Carlton seems to be lost on most people, and perhaps in the name of perception it is irrelevant anyway.

Maybe it would be best for Pratt to step down quietly???

I'm not sure where I sit on this. :?

This is the greatest anti carlton witch hunt. Is Greame Samuels using his AFL influence. PRATT BROKE THE LAW IN A CASE OF BAD JUDGEMENT. HE DID NOTHING TO BRING THE GAME INTO DISREPUTE. HE OWNS A PRIVATE COMPANY. DOESNT REPRESENT SHAREHOLDERS. THIS WOULD BE EQUIVALENT TO GETTING YOUR HAND CUT OFF FOR STEALING A LOAF OF BREAD.

THE 700 MILLION DOLLAR BENEFIT TO VISY IS AN INVENTED NUMBER BY THE MEDIA AND THE ANTI CARLTON MEDIA. THE REAL FIGURE IS CLOSER TO 70 MILLION AND HE WAS FINED 36 MILLION. THE AUSTRALIAN CONSUMER WOULD NOT HAVE SEEN A PENNY OF THE MONEY IT WOULD HAVE BEEN RETAINED AS PROFIT FOR THE COMPANIES INVOLVED.

GRAEME SAMUEL- CARLTON HATER (GAVE US THE PENALTIES)
PATRICK SMITH- Essendon* SUPPORTER CARLTON HATER
MARK ROBSON- Essendon* SUPPORTER CARLTON HATER
TIM LANE- TURN COAT

The Pratt issue has nothing to do with football, as opposed to the Ben Cousins soap opera.

Look at it this way...

Every time the Ben Cousins saga is reported he is "AFL Player" or "West Coast Eagle" Ben Cousins. This is why he brings the game into disrepute.

When the Visy story is reported it is "Billionaire" or "Visy Head" Richard Pratt, so no blatant connection to football.

I think it's as simple as that.
