The sponsorship will be MASSIVE somewhere in the prder of 5 mill.

Vodafone didnt come to us.. because they would have to multply their $$$$ a couple of tmes at least.
Optus will remain a sponsor
I heard Hyundai are back in some sponsorship capacity also.

There all staying coming back or introducing themselves to us instead of running away....

So there is another "massive" besides Hyundai? :-D

Well, if you can remember the last time Hyundai were into sponsorship with us they also sponsored for the first time in the same year the Canterbury Bulldogs. And guess which two teams won the premiership in their respective codes in their first year of Hyundai sponsorship :-D Nothing gets more MASSIVE than that 8)

Will be an H car company.. for big coin.. but it wont be as MASSIVE.

The ositive thing is another company that builds cars startng with H also wanted it and they got into a dutch auction...

Either way... were wanted and there are a few more money spinners to be annunced...

Wont be the 5 mill per year..

No apparently not, this is what Synbad states in the other thread. Apparently the airline thing fell through as they are remaining based in Sydney.

It is a little difficult when you've been on the bottom end of the ladder for 6 consecutive years. Once we start winning consistently, who wouldn't want to be associated with Carlton??

Just out of interest. How does $5 million over two years compare to other clubs and their deals? I am guessing the pies deal with Emirates would be one of the more lucrative in the AFL?

I think the Pies' emirates deal is 3.5 mill a year. So I guess our hyundai one isn't a record, but it's still pretty big and the VISY one is also significant so on balance we are probably even with them. But if the rumours on this site are correct and there's an even bigger one on the way, then we're quite literally laughing all the way to the bank

Oh well, back to flying with Emirates to England  Works out better that way though, can go Melbourne to Birmingham without having to change flights. Etihad pfffffft.

The club will have a new sponsor's logo on its shorts next year, featuring Visy, owned by club president Dick Pratt.

Swann described it as one of the better sponsorship deals in the AFL.

"It's as good as anything I've ever seen, for shorts, anyway," Swann said.

I find it funny that the sneaky leakers have kept mum about this sponsorship for so long and now every TD&H knows it will be Hyundai and Judd will wear #5.

Wassup with that?

It's understood the deal involves as much backing as some clubs receive for a major guernsey sponsorship.

Love it. :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

I thought it was going to be the biggest football sponsorship ever, or something like that?

He he he.

Virgin Blue - Visy to be the short sponsors. Hyundai to be the major sponsor for next 2 years for $2.5m a year. Big deal with the Arab airline has fallen through as they chose to use Sydney as their base. Synbad has mentioned all this in the thread about Sir Richard facing the AFL Commission.

Still I am happy. If you add the shorts deal and the Highundies deal then we are right up there. Lets just hope our relationship with Highundies is as good as the last..............as long as they don't hand our hats when they win the big one. Parko looked like a nob when he raised the cup.....although I still loved him!
