Can someone help a newbie. I have never figured out this.... :garthp:

I recall some red head in Queensland used to say "please explain".

What does it all mean?

There's a poster called garth p, he supports St Kilda, and pretty much every post he ever made consisted solely of the  emoticon. So we created the :garthp: which people can now use in place of the eye-rolling dude.

Oh, one other thing. See the word 'solely' in the para above? Well, there's a poster going by the name of 'the sole emoticon' who may very well post a reply consisting of nothing but my paragraph with the word 'sole' highlighted, and a single 8)

Welcome baggers, by the way!

Just heard on SEN, Lance has received further medical advice that he could not possibly play on, so he has pulled the PIN effective immediately!

I wish Lance all the best in retirement. All of the C grade comedians disappiont me. Lance , in what turns out to be an abbreviated career achieved more than most players who pull on a Carlton jumper will ever achieve. 200 games, Best and Fairest, Premiership payer, Club Captain, Top Goalkicker (80 goals) All Australian. I don't think that his record deserves the moronic derision that the C graders level at him. If we drafted a kid this year with a guarantee that he would achieve all of that even the half wit comedians would be thrilled.

Yes Lance achieved a lot great things during his career.
He also let himself and his fans down a hell of a lot too because of his unprofessional preparation.
A very checkered career.
I too sincerely wish Lance & his family the best for life after footy.

Only kicked 70 goals in 2000 in his best year not 80.

Only won a pre-season premiership, never a September one.

"I played a bit in the ACT whilst I was doing law at ANU during the 1970's.

I played ruck, Marty and Jim and Rob were into Rugby.

I barrack for the Bombers but I try to go to Swans games because a lot of supporters are in my electorate"

Give the guy a break? Times are tough.
