Fevola > Lloyd.

I rarely see Lloyd pushing up the ground, spotting up blokes 50 metres away on the chest with powerful low drives, and STILL kick 6.

Piss off Lloyd, you're yesterday's news. Go hang around the Hall of Fame kiddies and re-live lost glories.

Shit midfield.... no powerful CHF ahead of you.........

Run along young Matthew. Get out your pen and paper and start taking notes.

Oh, and a final digression that will invariably be taken as the "point" of this thread and no one will discuss the Fev emergence.

MEMO TO WAYNE CAREY:

Get DeLuca out on the track and work on his hands. His movement to a contest is extraordinary. If he could only hold the one-grabbers, he'd take 15 a match.

Fully agree about De Luca. If he can start taking those contested marks, he'll be an outstanding forward.

De Luca just looks HUGE at the moment. His head looks too small for his body, very weird, but I was happy with the things he did last night. Seemed very good below his knees for a guy his size.

Isn't the comparison trite:

1. Pretty Boy Lloyd plays in a hack team that will not make any impact this season, whilst the Fev will have a direct and dynamic impact not only on the Blues but the makeup of the final eight;
2.PBL is a one dimensional full forward with a great kick, Fevola is becoming a CHF with great pace, good ground skills, and excellent contested mark, and a booming kick;
3. PBL is a pretty boy, whilst the Fev was made for lovin';
4. PBL needs hair care products whilst the Shag gave them up years ago - as passe;
5. PBL is an intenet star :roll: whilst the Fev is a true blue footy star,

There is no comparison.

That's why everyone will talk about Deluca, who by the way played a terrific return game (how long was he in that camwalker?)

I think atm you'd have to say Lloyd > Fevola but potentially Fevola can be > Lloyd. What Fevola has shown in the Wizard Cup games, imo if he can play like that for 22 weeks then he definetely can be better than Lloyd.

At 202cm - as the great Jack Dyer used to say "Big Men dont get any shorter in the last quarter". - will be very useful as he learns to bust a pack. 8)

Yeah, he's gpt a bit of the Zippy the Pinhead about him at the moment, doesn't he? His babyface looks don't help in that regards either.

Yeah Deluca needs a mean haircut, like the one Livo's got at the moment (it makes him look heaps tougher on the TV)

Agreed. For all of Lloyd's absurd posturing and posing, he's a terrific player. But from what of seen in recent weeks (I concede it's only Wizard Cup), he's got the talent to be better. Lloyd can make a pretty decent fist of CHF, but the last 2 weeks Fev has completely dominated.

Fev has always been a terrific talent, but the last couple of weeks he's blown me away with his continued improvement. He's really been doing it all. For the first time (that I remember) he's started to dominate in the hardest position (CHF of course). He's taking contested marks. He's tackling, shepherding and hurting players when he gets the chance. He's not only finishing himself, but he's setting up goals with his searing passing. And I don't know if his ground-play has improved, but now that he's been up the ground a little further, we're getting to see his proficiency in this area as well.

If he can play half the premiership season games at his current pre-season level, he should be a monty for All-Australian. In fact, if he continues to perform (and perhaps even improve further? - a scary thought!), then he could well be in the top 3 players in the competition by the end of the year.

Sorry guys.....

There's hell, Lloydy.... please rot in it

Furthermore: DeLuca has the best hands below his knees for a guy that size that I've seen. He's certainly got enough there as a package to be awesome... just sticky up those hands above your head!

Lloyd's attributes:
Accurate
Will cause trouble in the forward line even if he doesn't get it
Accurate
Strong/ can take contested marks... and ..accurate
...and consistemnt on all of the above

Fevs'
Accurate from outside 50, which is where he HAD to get his kicks from
BUT this year he's added
Will cause trouble in anywhere even if he doesn't get it
Accurate (? well still needs to improve...has missed 4 that Lloyd would never miss)
Can take a contested mark
so all he has to do is be consistent and there is no argument.

(I've also assumed that all FF are good on a lead)

i had a vision of the Tyrant walking into ADL down the road, dropping his papers in the process. Tyrant bent down to pick up the papers, only for ADL to demonstrate how good his hands really were...
