Ahhh Shuffugus!

I love this :-D

Look... you've only had five posts, you're young... and welcome to the site! I look forward to your contributions.

Keep up the passion for David Teague... I'm sure I speak for all of us on here when I say that we really hope he is a great Development Coach and that he does good things with the Bullants in 2008.

Welcome to TC mate - to be honest, I always admired Teaguey... but it seems like one season he was playing every game, the next he didn't even get a look-in. I can't remember him playing too many bad games in the seniors, but obviously they were looking at him in the off-season and sawa quite a few better.

Shame, not one person can say he didn't have the guts.

It's a big shame. We're screaming for a solid small defender right now, and Teague would seem to be perfect. That he hasn't been able to cement that spot has been very disappointing because his worth ethic and courage set a great example for those around him.

We found out that he was no longer eligible for the NRS, so we had to delist him.

I think its fair to say his disposal, height and pace all counted against him. Did love him back in '04 though! The essential problem was, while he is a small defender he is neither quick enough for the little blokes or tall enough (and maybe even quick enough  ) for the big blokes

when I think of teague I remember think of the vision of Heath Scotland getting run down due to the lack of a shepherd from teaguey, then the spray that was caught on the umpires mic

Yes, but Scottie would have sprayed the tide for coming in too far ...

If you're too slow and too small to be close checking defender, then you have to have excellent disposal. I think Teaguey got everything he could out of his AFL career and it's great for Carlton that he's still around the club. If Joe Anderson plays with 80% of the courage and dedication that Teague did, then we've got a worthy replacement.

same with Lance, B&F then gone.

it's modern footy. i don't reckon too many young players now will be racking up a couple of hundred games.

the attrition rate will keep heading skyward the faster the game gets

Yeah, good decision to delist him.

Don't get me wrong, I liked Teague but towards the end he was moving a tad quicker than Big Red. I wish him all the best with the Bullants. Good to still have him around the club.

Has the heart of a champion but has been exposed with a lack of pace. Just short of AFL standard I thought. Pity though. He was terrific in his first year.
