Hello all. I have kept tabs on this site for about 18 months now and have finally decided to start making some contibutions.....although not in the length and detail that some do! I read and appreciate that knowledge and try to store some of it! I hope you make me welcome.

I have been staying in the loop via the old man back in Oz as I put up with freezing cold London and now having just read all 30 pages of this thread it just shows what a man such as Dick Pratt can do for a club! (Eddies millions vs Pratts billions makes me laugh!).

I am more than looking forward to the announcement.......can someone film the faces of our rivals when it finally happens. It would be priceless!

Welcome Baggers. I used to cross Putney Bridge (from Oxshott, via Wimbledon) on the District Line every day back in 1996. :P

Thanks Tommi and Camelboy for the nice welcome.

Tommi - trade London weather for Melbounre anytime! Imagine a winter afternoon at the G and by time-on in the 2nd quarter it was pitch black!

Camelboy - the putney bridge carrying the Underground trains still stands! The dirt and rust are holding it up! I take the opposite direction and walk into Fulham which is near the other blue and white of Chelsea (boooo....hisssssss.....but they are just as arrogant us us, they have the money and love success....I couldn't resist!)

Any updates on this announcement? The old man has not read or heard a thing so I hope I can get one up on him!

Haha, it was my time in London's SW in 96 that attracted me to following Chelsea. At least nobody hated us back then.

And them Roman arrived.........a bit like what Sir Richard is doing for the baggers. As long as it delivers two flags in a row I have no complaints!

PS> now Jose has gone "the blues" have been forgotten a little. Avram Grant has about as much personality as the Demitrispew! Never mind, at least Grant looks like being good at his job....... :-D

So, as Baggers21 (welcome by the way) asked earlier, any update on this announcement? Is Friday just the running gag or is it set for this Friday? I'm dying to hear the official announcement (if this is true).
Gives other supporters ANOTHER reason to despise us even more, don't you just love it?? 8)

I wonder if the visy saga has influenced the decision to change in this massive sponsorship?

Guilty by association to Pratt?

I doubt it, and hope not, but funnier things have happened in life haven't they....

I was wondering the same thing actually. The momentum for this thing stalled around about the same time as the whole Amcor thing came along. Would companies be hesitant to deal with Pratt now?

Probably coincidence no doubt.
