Now that the Judd hysteria has settled a little (or will it ever?), I was thinking to myself the other night what a great job the CFC had done to get the deal over the line.

I started to think about the impact that Judd will have as a whole on the CFC - training, younger players like Murph and Gibbs having lesser quality opponents on them etc.

Then I remembered a talkback radio call that I made probably about early August.
I can't remember exactly who all the panelists were, but I know that one was Jakovich and one was Gryllysich. The other may have been Ken Judge?

Anyway, I asked them what they thought of the idea of cfc chasing Judd because of the uncertainty of Stevo's injury and the need to lessen the load on Murphy and Gibbs.
I only mentioned trading pick 3, not pick 1.

Their overwhelmingly negative response came to the conclusion that we should recruit more youngsters, and no-one would want to go to Carlton anyway - least of all someone like Judd.

8)

I should ring back and ask 'em," Would you like sauce with that?"

Ah, George Grljusich. Gotta love that name! I'm disappointed that there's 2 vowels in there though....

4everblue, your opening post was so sweeeeeet!. I won't put the quote in. It'd be too long, but it was beauuuuuutiful! Good work. My advice to you - Call 'em up again. Call 'em up again! Do it!

The best thing of all is that we haven't got Judd because we had the best deal to offer, we have him because he WANTED to come to us.

Yep, I'm hearin' ya.
I'll offer 'em sweet chilli sauce.
Tabasco would be just plain nasty.
After all - life at CFC is sweet.
And besides - they'll see a rise in temperature next year without eating tabasco! :lol:

Its still hard accepting the reality and seeing Chris Judd in a Carlton junper.

However the reality will rapidly authenticated in 2008 when we win more games.

Judd to Carlton means so much to our club besides on field success - Membership between 35,000 and 40,000 for starters.

Seems a popular thing to be saying during this election campaign, but me too Tommi!

I sit back staring at his picture on my screen saver, or back covers from the copies of the Hun and the Age I bought the day his trade was announced and yeh, you just suddenly sit back and laugh and smile and say "we got him!"

Hopefully I'll be feeling almost as happy in about 2 1/2 weeks...

And how funny is it that the collingwood supporter in my bay keeps covering up those pics of Judd from the Hun and Age - she can't handle it!!!

There was an old episode of the Simpsons on last night - The one where Bart becomes famous as the "I didn't do it " kid. There was one scene where he is sitting in class and all of his classmates and the teacher are just staring at him with big smiles on their faces just waiting for Bart to say "I didn't do it" Then they all erupt with joy.
Bart = Judd
"I didn't do it" = round 1
Classmates = Talking Carlton
Mrs Krabopple = camelboy
Sherri and Terri = darknavy's animated twin fantasy

just because carlton got an injured superstar, doesn't mean that the whole club is going to start winning games...sure judd, kruezer (or whoever they pick) and hadley, may have some impact, but i dont think it will be enough to turn things around for us, and help them acheive a top 8 position. However Judd will be good for Fevola (delivery-wise) and murphy, stevens etc. with less pressure from taggers. I hope that they will be able to climb up the ladder a bit in 2008.
