My biggest concern is finding a way to fit in Hampson, Aisakie and Kreuzer into the same senior team. They're all too good NOT to have in the 22.

Kreuzer is too good NOT to play in the ruck.
Hampson is too effective with taps not to play in the ruck.
Aisakie wins damn near everything but needs to concerntrate on taps to advantage, but again - Must play in the ruck.

Both Aisakie and Kreuzer will be most effective when they are playing as a Ruck/Rover.

Anybody got any ideas?
Cotchin?

17+ is right up there as far as aussie rules players are concerned.

All aussie rules players complete the test in mostly similar conditions so comparisons of times are very valid.

I heard today it was actually something called a yo-yo test?

http://www.topendsports.com/testing/tes ... ittent.htm
Quote:
The Yo-Yo Intermittent Test is similar to the Yo-Yo endurance test (a variation of the beep test), except in the intermittent tests the participants have a short active break (5 and 10 seconds for the endurance and recovery test, respectively).

purpose: The test evaluates an individual's ability to repeatedly perform intervals over a prolonged period of time, particularly for athletes from sports such as tennis, team handball, basketball and soccer.

I LOVE yo-yo's... the shortbread is nice and buttery.

I guess it's possible, the number just refers to the speed of the 'beeps' on the CD whilst you are doing the shuttle runs. No idea where the CD craps out because the best I've seen anybody ever do was about 16 or so and they stopped the tape/CD at that point (I was on my haunches sucking it up big time after having given in at around the 12.something mark from memory)

Apparently David Beckham and Lance Armstrong have 'clocked' the beep test (don't ask me how).

Someone posted a url a while ago - something like thebeeptest.com or similar.

What they forgot to mention is that Lance Armstrong was on a bike when he completed the test.

The highest one i ever heard of was Belinda Clarke who pulled a 17+. I just normally try to keep running until two people drop out (not including the token fat kid) so I don't embarrass myself. Beep tests suck!

the reason why people say beckham's completed it is because rio ferdinand once said about him that he's someone who can finish it and still not be puffing.

Lets hope Ratts notices and finally gives AW some more than decent time in the middle. It's about time AW was given alot more responsibility, its time to let him run free and take games by the scruff of the neck. Just like he did in that wonderful debut game.

Whilst i don't mind him of the half back line i just think he's got alot more to give. Judd and AW tearing away from stoppages verbatim, now that's a hardening thought 8)

Also i reckon Mottram would finish the beep test 10 minutes after running in the 5K final of the olympics he's that fit. Would easily be in the top 10 fittest white men on the planet.

Where does that put him in the fittest men on the planet ladder???

Hard to quantify Synbad, there are that many unbelievable runners of african origin that we get to see very rarely. Some not even at all i would assume.

Far easier to make an assumption on athletes of european origin because if they are any good then they get the opportunity from whenever they show the talent at a very young age to come through the various systems.

But if you were to compare Mottram with runners in his pet event of the 5k, for which IMHO is a true test of how fit one is because of the fact its basically 5k of sprinting, then obviously he's right up there.

Seriously though, at 200cm anything in double figures is damn good. Anything above 12 would be great. 14+ would be sensational.

Heard AW may have run a 17.7.

if he ran a 17.7 (which is just phenomenal), and if hampson got higher than that that has to be just about unheard of for a bloke over 2m.
