I have just come across a Show that was screened in ireland a little while back telling the story of the three o'hailpin brothers sean , setanta and aisake , it follows all three boys and focuses on how each is pursuing there sporting dream , watching it you get a huge sense of understanding at just how big these Boys are in Ireland , and u get a full sense of understanding of just how much setanta and aisake gave up to pursue there dreams of becoming professional athletes in australia , this documentry gives a RAW look inside the lives of the o'hailpin brothers and is a MUCH watch for any carlton supporter out there , has anybody else seen this ! and what were your thoughts on it too ..

There was another thread with a link to the YouTube downloads of this - yes it was great to watch - and you just know that the O'hAilpin boys will never die wondering. :-D

I watched in on youtube at about 2am on the Saturday night before we played the Lions on a Sunday arvo at the Gabba this year. It got me really fired up.

Then I went to the game. :(

Good Doco.

Loved the comparrisons between Setanta being the Profesional Sportsman and Sean Og being the Amature yet both train and work as equally as hard.

It's really something to see Sean Og working for a (Bank?) 9-5 and then head off for training in the cold wet dark of morning and the gloomy and yet-again wet mist of the evening.................. For No Money at all.
Very funny scene where a tense Sean Og is getting a rubdown after almost 15 hours of work and training saying that he has to get up and do it all again tomorrow.

Yet, Setanta can rock up to (fairly) decent facilities and train with piece of mind that he can devote all his attention quite easilly to JUST his football.

Surely it's only a matter of time before their sport becomes professional?

Mind you, i brought that up with some Irish guys i met in Dublin and they got quite narky & aggressive about it.
From what i can gather, they do not want their sport becoming like the Premier Leauge where players are paid obscene amounts of money only to bugger of on their club when somebody offers them more.

For anybody who hasn't seen it, you should totally check it out! They show the house that Setanta and Aiskaie were brought up in and the backyard that they played endless games of Hurling in.

Top Stuff.

Cannot WAIT to head back to Ireland. 2009 i'm going.

Yep! watched it via the Youtube links in the Bluetube thread.

Agree with pp's and also I thought it was lovely to hear their mum's comments. Her support and encouragement obviously means the world to the guys Image

Good doco

Their attitude is worth them being on the list

Lets hope the Aisake and Carlos rip it to them in 08.

Looks like Eddie Betts likes a home cooked meal :-D The boys Mum is a real Super Mum.... Must have been hard for her to settle in in Ireland - coming from a small Fijian island. I think she said it took her 10 years.
Interesting that the boys dad was not featured at all.
