Apparently the "Hammer" turned up to this weeks first sessions with an amazing new attitude. Total change around from his homesick boy attitude from last year. All the boys are getting right behind him
I'm told they had a beep test and the Hammer won the whole thing! Not bad for a 6'7 ruckman.

Isn't it amazing what one game, one mark, one goal can do for a young player!

I thought the pics from training on Monday demonstrated he'd been hitting the weights a bit too. Obviously more work to be done - but Dal Santo reckoned it took him 3 full offseasons to get right... so that's not a criticism.

But this is sensational news!

And remember that someone writing under 'Shaun Hampson' on the carltonfc homepage said about how he was looking forward to knocking the ball down to Judd, Stevens, etc. If it was really Shaun then he sounded stoked that we'd secured Judd!

He also hired his own personal trainer over the break on his own accord and busted his gut at PP.

I'm gonna pencil him in to dominate the ruck in a maximum of 3 years. This kid has more willpower than our whole side.

Thanks for that info The Swan...

hope he doesn't bust a gut! But this is incredibly positive news, and congratulations to Hammer for showing this level of dedication. He could be the bargain buy of the 2006 draft!

That's wonderful news to hear of the dedication of one of our younger players.

He could have taught a few lessons to his old coach.

Where is Hammer from that he was home sick?

Got a feeling he was a Mt Gravatt boy - although I could have just completely made that up?

South Eastern Suburbs of Brisbane. About 15 mins from the city on the M1 if you were on the way to the Gold Coast. I played a bit of Senior Association footy with the Vultures before they were upgraded to AFLQ Seniors. Only prob is they wear the Kangas strip! :P
