Agree

Shocking time also considering city congestion at that stage of the day

Didn't think of that part of it - how are Mr & Mrs Smith and the kids going to get to the game from Cranbourne/Caroline Springs etc in time for the start? Does dad have to leave the city at 3 - get home then come back into the city?

Just stupid

Given we're playing in Adelaide twice in 08, they could have at least requested an Away match against Sydney for rd1 of the Who Cares.

You need to get over this whole Sydney thing KK.

We've had a good run the last few years, apart from the fact that the Swans have flogged us whenever we've played them.

we got to be happy with that draw.

Its a sign that even Jabba thinks we will improve just so he can make sure he can say 'crowds are up, ratings are up'

Fantastic draw IMO.

- only four interstate games (only one at Subi)
- Geelong, Hawthorn and West Coast we only play once
- play Richmond twice for a change

Could hardly be happier!

Not too sure about that...

2002 - 2 games, 1 TS, 1 OO - FIRST YEAR TS was used, we were one of three teams to play Sydney there (Essendon* and Brisbane I think were the other two)
2003 - 2 games, 1 TS, 1 OO - Pagan's first game, enough said
2004 - 1 game at OO
2005 - 1 game at TD
2006 - 2 games, 1 H, 1 A
2007 - 1 game at SCG

OK, that's not terrible. 2004-5 sucked though

I think it's the fact that WE WANT OUR CARLTON TOO that shits everyone north of the Murray.

Plus the fact that almost every year for the LAST SIX FREAKING YEARS there have been two games in Perth and two games in Adelaide. That's what's not fair for us NSW people.

And the whole 'developing market, push the brand into Syd instead of leaving it to Dumb and Dumber' thing...

First: NO!

Second, given that Canberra is merely a small satellite city just beyond the outskirts of Sydney, there's a market there which could be utilised, rather than the pissy small-town markets in Adelaide and Perth. Don't tell me that a ton of Canberrans would prefer to stay home rather than come up to Sydney to watch the team play, even if it is for the Who Cares.

The Club has to try and push our brand into every major city every season, whether it be the season proper, or the Who Cares Cup. If we play a Who Cares match up here, then it takes the pressure off having to play up here in the real season, and still leaves Sydney and Canberra (and Wollongong, and Newcastle, etc) fans satisfied that they can go to the footy and see THEIR team play. The Filth and Scum fans get that up here EVERY YEAR.

Maybe if we're lucky, Carlton will be the Nth Sydney Oval praccy match this year.

And I seem to remember a preseason match against Sydney where we gave them an almighty thumping. OK, they weren't really trying, but it was sure as hell fun!

We have a 15 day break between rounds 7-8

And a 13 day break between rounds 14-15

I must've missed the double split-round thingy next year?

Great draw. Weird about Hawthorn rd 22.

Disappointed in TV though. I prefer Fox games for the pure fact that Saturday night and Sunday afternoon games just don't get shown in Canberra until retarded times. I'll get myself to at least 3 games this year though so that's a bonus on the last few years.

Round 1 bucks party here we come ...

I know it sounds silly but I see 14 wins. Perhaps the first 7 straight.

I'd prefer us to be playing at least one game in each capital city so all Carlton fans across the country see their team.
Having said that, I'm sure the coach & players are thrilled to be only travelling 4 times.

Great news for the club with more FTA tv games. EXPOSURE!!

Is when our first game is, R1, vs. Ninthmond, on a Thursday night.

Tell me, how many of you will be able to make it to the MCG for kick-off?

6.10pm seems pretty close to a dumb time to start a football game, especially on a Thursday night.

I will be there at the start, even if I have to do perform a Ron Burgundy-esqu dash through the city streets, grabbing cigarettes and needlessly shoving innocent bystanders out of the way as I run by.

I have commented on this a number of times, it is my pet peeve of the month. Morons, morons, morons, & they can't even use tv as an excuse because it will be delayed on the box anyway.

Very conufusing
