Though this is the interesting bit for us:

But Richmond received some consolation in that the AFL has agreed to schedule its centenary clash at the MCG against Carlton as a night game at the end of June during the second split round.

Considering the Rd 1 match is rumoured to be a Richmond home game, this game should be a decent money earner for us.

Richmond are said to be furious at Carlton's offer to present it with 100 box seats to mark the occassion.

RICHMOND is seething over the 2008 AFL draw, which has again failed to recognise the club as a definitive home tenant of the MCG, scheduling three Tigers' home games at Telstra Dome, including one against MCG co-tenant Melbourne.

By the tone of that paragraph it would appear as though the AFL controls the draw and schedules fixtures where they want, irrespective of the club's wishes.

Gee, that's news to me.

Hopefully we can spoil their Centenary celebrations with a big win like we did in the Centenary Match with Collingwood's back in 1992..

Richmond supporters have been acting like absolute f#ckwits on BF lately. They have actually recently become my 2nd most hated team purely for that reason.

I'd love nothing more than to smash them in their centenary match (and round 1 as well).

Edited for accuracy.

Or roger them so hard, sans lube, that they need one of those rubber rings to sit (gingerly) on their box seat.

I think it's great that we're helping out one of the new clubs celebrate their milestone like this.

The Centenary game will be the Richmond home game.

But the Easter Thurs clash will be huge. Judd's first game in the AFL with a real football club. Ratten's first win as coach.

I am not sure whether Carlton and Richmond have the 50-50 split on all home and away games agreement

I know it was the case a couple of years ago that Carlton had a 50/50 split agreement with the other big clubs, I assume that is still the case.

I think your right Jarusa, that was until they did the dirty on Collingwood by reneging on their agreement and taking all the moula for a gate of 75000.

Not to sure whether to berate Richmond for being gold diggers or congratulate them for @#$%&! over the filth
