I'm sure KK will find something else to become outraged about. 8)

Fair enough.

Thanks for your effort Chelodina.

I do believe for a greater liaison to happen between the club and it's supporter base in Sydney has to start from a grassroot movement; give them a strong enough reason to come and stay with us in Sydney, away from their loved ones.

But in Sydney there's a huge 'mental' gap which needs to be overcome for this to ever happen; fundamentally it's a cultural issue, typical of Sydney.

I've seen it in some cities in the world such as megalopolis' like New York, London, LA, Tokyo as well as typically sprawaled 3rd world country cities, where there is a great divide within a city typified by a lack of intracity trips amongst the general population, understandably due the their vast size, distances and congestion. In Sydney it's the harbour bridge; regardless if whether it's only a 20 minute ride, say from Bondi to Mosman, crossing the bridge is one big deterrent. Then there's the other 'competitive/ envious divide between Eastern suburbs, Noth Shore/ Northern Beaches, Shire, West....it's absurd.

Carlton supporters whether they live in the north, west or even North Shore or even Nth Sydney do not like to cross the bridge to Carlton functions, normally held in the east, for many reasons, but most noteworthy is because when/if Carlton players come to Sydney to play or spruik, they tend to reside in the east and within close proximity to the airport. That's the way it is.

So IMHO opinion, I don't think the Carlton 'thing' in Sydney will ever provide a BIG reason for the club to promote themselves, as much as we would like, because of the nature of the splintered Carlton movement in this city of great divide.

It's sad...cos I lve to be with the brethren in my adopted Sydney to feel the same shit you do when living in Melbourne, close to my beloved Blues and its associated brethren...and to give the Carlton FC a reason to ebrace us distant supporters without the feeling of xenophobia.

And what's the bet the Blues don't play in Sydney in 2008? My guess is we wont be seeing any Blues players in Sydney, representing the CFC.

Lets stick together, come on, come on, lets stick together.

Here's to the Blues in 2008.

Go Bluebaggers.

Sounds like Fev came along for the ride as it was personal sponsorship from Toyota organised by Murphy's manager.
