I'll be heading down a few times next year. I'm getting a chubby thinking about watching Judd tear the Pies a new one.

It's not a matter of tight-arsedness.....(although I am one at times  )

can you answer my edited question now?

Kerna you asked about the Thursday night game...

isn't it the day before Good Friday? I guess they're expecting people to leave work early... but it is an excellent question. A night game I can udnerstand, but twilight sounds a strange kick-off on a work day.

it's f$%ked, what would it be? a 4:30 start?

me "Ahh boss, can I leave work at, say 3 today?"
boss "what for, this is one of our busiest days"
me "the footy is starting early today"
boss "the AFL are a pack of morons"
me "yes they are, yes, they are"

Agreed Kerna...

on a massive game such as Carlton v Richmond it just makes no sense. Don't know why they'd have done it.

And you'd be expecting a huge crowd too... first game of the season... our fans there to see Judd... their fans there to see McMahon

Its a decision based of TV coverage..
Our twilight game is meant to start at 6:10 and then the Power vs Cats GF Replay live from AAMI Stadium starts at 8:30 or something like that.

Still 6:10 is a strange start time for a game on a work night.. a lot of working people wont be able to make it to the ground on time., and therefrore, wont go..
Starting at 7:40, you could almost guarentee 75-80,000
Starting at 6:10, you'd be lucky to get 65.000

Yes, but does it end happily or does it end with the boss being a bastard because he's a Filth supporter?

Is that by Bogan*Air? Because the money you save travelling with them is spent getting from Avalon ...

Current pricing SYD-MEL
VIR $115 e/w+
QAN $95 e/w+
BOG $79 e/w+
+ taxes and transfers as per Webjet for travel between 1Mar08 and 30Aug08
Where do you get $49 from?!

Kaptain Kouta wrote:
I can guarantee that means 2x Perth and 2x Adelaide, or 2x Perth 1x Adelaide 1x Brisbane.

Once again, we miss out in Sydney.

I'd love to be proved wrong.
I hope you're wrong also E(KK)C but we all know you're not.

My money's on the former of the two choices - the only crossing of the Murray will be over its due-south section.

Bastard AFL

the AFL had probably penciled it in for Good Friday, and there was nowhere else to put it once that was knocked on the head.

Don't we normally make the trip to Perth twice and once to Sydney each year? Can't see any reason to change that, especially given the amount of support we get in these cities.

More often than not, we don't play up here. It's been a 2 years not, 1 year yes, kind of deal except the last 2 years when miraculously the team has come up.

To stop the Swans, Filth and Bummers poisoning the entire city, Swans v Carlton should be an annual match here.
