Fev and Murph were in Sydney today, meeting fans, signing stuff, etc.

WHY THE @#$%&! WEREN'T SYDNEY MEMBERS TOLD THIS?

With an exciting new era in Carlton's history about to get underway, Sydney fans got dudded. Again.

I am ROPEABLE!

can't see it myself - my sydney mate reckons the 'bloods' (yawn) team attitude would sort him out.

he'd be gay icon in the harbour city :)

I don't know any details beyond what I saw on Sports Tonight this afternoon on 10, which said that Fev and Murph were in Sydney.

Not sure where, why, for how long, how long it had been organised, anything like that.

If a complaint could be made, that would be good, but ultimately fruitless, unfortunately.

Disappointing.

Well said KK,

Didn't hear boo!

I'm @#$%&! spewing about that too.

Here we are trying to build the brand in the new frontier, and us as the foot soldiers, know nothing about it.

Not to mention, we in nsw pay at least 1 full membership each (but not necassarily go to too many games) to fly the flag...at least give us a taste, and vice versa. (I but shitloads of membershipd for those who have broken fingers or are too young to afford it...or understand it)

I know for a fact that both Murphs and Tex have told me that it would be great to catch up in Bondi, when next in Sydney...you know,,show 'em around, steer them clear from Cousin's underworld mates...

How can we show our appeciation and hospitality when we don't know?

The World of Catlton is as big, if not bigger than Lygon street.

We are ONE!

We in Sydney are as disappointed as Murphs and Tex are having missed the opportunity to show waqch other our gratitude and hospitality...I was happy enough to do a 22 km run with them........by car.

Don't worry, a please explain will be issued on behalf supporters in Sydney.

Bare in mind, they often have sponsor functions, but sometimes we have been able to organise meet and greets around those functions and players will stay on a few extra hours.

I will report back the response from Swann.

Not that I'd have been able to go, given the owner of this house wants to live in it .. bastard .. but this is flower typical of the club. Us Sydney supporters are told Jack yet we're all as loyal as the next person who has had it up to here with Sydney this and Sydney that ..

bloody

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm not really all that interested in an excuse after the fact. I'd rather the Club know just how pissed off we are up here about this sort of thing, and that it doesn't happen again.

Time and again, Sydney fans get dudded. We get maybe one match up here every 3 or 4 years, compared to the regular 2 per season in both Perth and Adelaide.

To put it down to "sponsor functions" is a cop-out, and says to fans that the sponsors are more important than the supporters. I also fail to see how the players would have only a few hours available, given they aren't in training yet.

But thank you in advance for putting our case to the club.

I'd check the facts before issuing a complaint.
If Tim Webster did the report, it may well have been Gonar Tutlan and Danny Seow.

I reckon the Brisbane fans have been dudded recently as well, although that will likely change with the new Cararra Kangaroos. :P

While it pains me to say it, maybe, just maybe, when it's all boiled down, in the Club's eyes, they are. :? Except on game day.

BEFORE WE GET TOO CARRIED AWAY!!!

Could everyone provide details about what they saw and heard..

At this point, I know that it was
* Marc Murphy and Brendan Fevola
* They were signing autographs
* It was reported on Sports Tonight

Does anybody know where in sydney this occured?
The day it occurred?
Was it reported on the late night Sports Tonight or the early one on the weekend?

An official letter has been drafted on behalf of the Supporters Network in Sydney- It has been sent around to all committee members of the Network group for comment- and it will be sitting in Greg Swann's Inbox (with hardcopy to follow) by tomorrow morning. BUT I want to get all the facts clear before it is sent. The letter and response will be posted here if people want it.

You know what? This situation, or rather perceived situation, may be the catalyst for a bigger and better involvement and embracement of the club with it's legion of followers/members around the country.

I appreciate your efforts chelodina, and seeking to understand before you're understood.

Lets get the facts first, and then we'll determine a better way forward.

We NSW Carlton supporters know are going to have a very big 2008,or at least a major turnaround, and we'd like to play our part in it.

I love wearing my Carlton jumper in Bondi...can't wait for the new one to be released (with a massive sponsor), and of course the release of Judds' number.
