Fevola has too much to say....(as a side issue I would have traded him or at the very least would have put him in for a brain transplant. Mark my words the trouble that Fevola gets himself into will not stop with the arrival of Judd or with greater club success. Once a flower always a flower!)....now back to the subject.

I would hope that Stevens is made captain. It appeared that he was the leader (the few games he played) even when Lance was on the field.

Stevens heart is in the right place, he has passion and obviously has the respect of the playing group. He is mature and of the right age.

It is known that Juddy reluctantly took on the Weagles captaincy and doesn't enjoy the limelight or attention that comes with it. Yes I know he could do it and he would do it well. Perhaps make him VC.

It doesn't sit right that any player in his first year at a club should walk straight into the captaincy....as good a player as he is.

It would feel uncomfortable for the player and would add way too much expectation and pressure. We just should let Juddy recover from his injury (surgery) and play the best football that his body will allow him without the burden of higher duties.....VC may still allow him to play his best and allow him to have constructive input and feel comfortable as a senior player in his first year.

Stevo has my vote.

What say all of you?

Well Flower me.

I just found out with my last post that you couldn't post the words Dick and Head joined together.

I wonder what other words aren't we allowed to use...apart from the real obvious ones? 8)

Poor old Fevvy is a goose! He will always be high maintenance and CFC in damage control as far as Fev is concerned. Trouble is the media love a goose and Fev always does them a favour.

I'm with you Moaty. I think Stevens would be a good fit, and I'm not sure Judd even wants the captaincy, not yet anyway. Sounds like the whole idea of stepping straight into it without having 'proven' himself to the playing group makes him feel decidedly uncomfortable.

As for Fevola, I was all for trading him, until I heard about the Judd possibility. The thought of having Judd in a midfield that should become very strong in the next few years, and a player of Fevola's talent at FF, is just too tempting.

And I guess I hope that with Fevola no longer the best player at the Club, that he will be forced to stop acting like a petulant sook when things don't go his way, as there is a better player who is just as frustrated and who is being professional about it.

It remains still just a hope...and when you read the report on another thread from today, it makes you wonder whether it will always just be a hope.

Two very good points there. Here's hoping 25 can grow up. Banning him from the footy show would be a good start. that show is shit and they just egg him on, and like the big kid he is, he obliges.

I know this thread isn't about Fev, but of all the people that have dealt with Fev, our coach has offered, I feel, the best strategy in dealing with him. At least what he has said is a positive constructive suggestion. It may or may not prove to be successful, but I admire his angle.

I'm paraphrasing here but he said, Brendan needs to keep busy when he's not playing. It was a simple statment; there wasn't that much to it, but I felt he hit the mark. He gets distracted easy and if he has things to do occupy his time, he is less likely to get into trouble.

I like our coach. I've got a good feeling about him. He doesn't speak all that articulately, as I think he is still finding his way, but I think he knows how to talk to footballers, and I think the players like him and respect him.

He'll be tough with them, but he'll be reasonable, and Fev will work well with him. Brett Ratten could be our greatest recruit yet.

Mods, please move if required, and I apologise if I have placed incorrectly.

Synners, these statements from you hold no water. It's like "insider trading!" There is no reckon, stop being coy. Blueman's the one with the crystal ball, you're the one with the contacts.

Now I can say, "I reckon Judd will be captain," as I'm confident Synbad already has the mail. 8)

I remember what Garry Lyon said after Melbourne interviewed Judd.

The Mebourne Sub Committee asked Judd what he was looking for in whichever Victorian Club; and one thing he did stipulate was "I don't want to be Captain"

Gary Lyon was also possibly the one that told everyone that Judd would be playing at Melbourne.

He never ever said that on 'Confidential".....he was very reticent about just about anything to do with Judd excepting the Captain reference.

I also agree that Fevola should be banned from The Footy Show by the Club.....he's the village idiot and Doug Hawkins replacement.

From memory, Parkin banned all of the Press interviews with our Flag winning team in '95; instead telling them to concentrate on the business of winning games.

Fair enough, I was listening to MMM when Brian Taylor was telling everyone Judd would be playing at Melbourne and Lyon wasn't doing much to deny it then.
