Swann was bullshitting. There's no way we won't use our PSD pick and there is no way we won't get a valuable player. Just have to wait on Richmond.

Embley leaving would almost be the last straw for the current Eagles board. He is definitely a hero to a lot of young kids who support the Weagles, generally for the right reasons.

In the light of this week's events you would think they would bend over backwards to ensure he stays.

Perhaps a little bit of sleight of hand by Swanny to deflect attention from elsewhere.

Indeed, I heard some good gossip today. :P

No he can't. WC can refuse to let him go anywhere if he's still under contract.

Fair enough. My misunderstanding.

Folks let be truthful here.

We have to wait for Richmond to select a hack, e.g Brennan.

Then we have to collect the cream.

Any "honest" out of contract Eagle will want out now. We must simply wait.

Most teams still have approx 4-5 players out of contract. That means somewhere between 60-75 players are available. Almost all will sign leaving a field of between 5 and 10 players. Only 1 or 2 will be of any quality. Wait I say. Has Swann let us down yet.

Hell No.

Everyone seems to be in a happy mood these days. Something good must have happened over thelast months.

We need A/some good backmen.
Last year we had 100+ points kicked against us in 21 games.
The other game was 98 points.

Good backmen dont grow on trees, but generally the other lines seem to be falling in to place.

I would think a defensive unit of:

Thornton Jamison Anderson

Bower O'Hailpin Scotland

Add in - Hadley, Walker,

Would work well and develop together, with added pressure up the ground now I would be disappointed if we conceded 100 plus points regularly.

Apologies for the teaser folks, but due to the nature of the "rumour" I heard it needs to be kept quiet. It's barely a 50/50 proposition and if it does come off and we're all having a bit of a giggle at the shit we will cop, you'll understand why it had to be kept quiet.

That's a bit piss weak from me I know. Sorry. :P

Swann said they will promote Michael Jamison from the Rookie List.

Who knows, maybe Embley has a clause in his contract that allows him to bail out.

What's to say he didn't like the shite going on at his club when negotioations started on his last contract. He might have been convinced that everything was under control and that the club was getting it's players in order.

He could have said that he'd stay however if.................?

This clause is probably known as the Santa Clause.

It states that any digruntled West Coast player may at any time dissolve his current contract. He may also have the right to make his way to Carlton FC (everyones club of choice) through any legitimate means i.e PSD.

OK...make of this what you will...

Just had coffee in Swan Street and a group of Richmond players were at the next table. Little Willie wanted an autograph so we wandered over pretending to be Tiger supporters (bhhhrrr!!).

I said "what's the chances of picking up Embley" and they said "Nah, he wants to go to Carlton..."

I nearly sprayed my coffee across the room. 8)
