Even a 4 page dossier on why Mick Stinear never made it as a footballer would suffice Caz.

I was just off the mark a tad with Mick and I will put it down to youthful exuberance

Having said that he has been an absolute legend in the QAFL for the past 5-6 years, captaining representative teams and captaining Mr Gravatt to a premiership. He has won both QAFL and Club B&F's and by all accounts is generally regarded as the major backbone of his club Mt Gravatt.

In 2007 QAFL equal runner-up
In 2006 QAFL runner-up
In 2004 QAFL winner of the Grogan Medal.

No ...don't do that.
I had a mate who flushed a tablet of viagra down the toilet once.
He couldn't get the seat down for a week. :P

I'm seriously considering flying Etihad airways to Singapore in December if they are in fact sponsering the Blues. I'm a Qantas nut and use them where ever i possibly can. However, if the rumours are true then i'd happily make the switch.

Problem is, they only fly out of brisbane. ......... WTF?

If I remember correctly, Mick Stinnear had a number of injury problems. It was a pity he didn't make it, because he certainly had the dedication and professionalism.

Ryan, working in the industry myself for many years, can I offer my advice??? Unless you're a priority frequent flyer, well above bronze, it is not worth flying Qantas at all. You'll find the service and overall experience of almost all other carriers, far superior. Nothing against Qantas personally, but Asian/Middle-Eastern carriers have cutting edge technology in the way of entertainment, better onboard service, and far-far better meals. In the end it comes down to cost, but from personal experience alone, I would pay a couple of hundred more to fly another carrier.

Transpacific, well that's a whole different kettle-of-fish. I'd take Qantas or Air New Zealand any day of the week.

REALLY?

WOW! i love Qantas. (mainly cause i'm a patriotic Aussie). They're great for Melb - LA flights and i thought they were actually better than Sinagpore Airlines with Melb to Sing.
Inflight entertainment is awesome!

Your right about the Frequent Flyer pionts...........they aint worth shit, and that's saying it nicely.

Cathay Pacific was awful for me, and i flew them 3 times. Never again.

The thing is, i'm 6'3" so wherever i go (unless it's business) it's gonna be cramped. And i hope this doesn't come accross as racist or anything but i find that I'm more cramped in the Asian carriers (such as Singapore and Cathay) cause they seem to be a bit shorter than most westerners.

But (AND THIS IS GETTING BACK ON THE TOPIC) if ETIHAD are sponsering my beloved Blues then i'd be more than happy to fly them regardless................But geez, i hope they start flying out of melbourne!

Where abouts are you in North Melbourne mate? You anywhere near Arden St?

Cathay still fly planes that were built when I had posters of Bon Jovi, Whitesnake, Cinderella and Mark Naley on the bedroom wall ...the oldest plane you'll fly with Singapore would be built around the time we won our last flag.

Oh - and I don't expect 'Massive' to be announced until the end of November.

Hey man, I was on Wreckyn Street until July, but I've since moved to Brunswick Road (in between Royal Parade and Lygon). I miss North Melbourne, even though I was reluctant in moving there from Fitzroy...another story!

Airlines become a personal preference thing, I guess, although the only flight I'd take on Qantas is the trans-pacific service if I had a choice - which is what you're saying in MEL-LAX. Singapore Airlines hose all over Qantas with inflight entertainment, beautiful air hostesses, and quality food if you're heading to Europe or Asia. You should try them. Thai has a brand new interior supposedly superior to that of Singapores, and from what I've seen, certainly looks the goods. If you're doing the LAX leg, next time you should try Air New Zealand. Aesthetically very ordinary hostesses, but their leg-room I have not experienced on another carrier. Their new inflight entertainment is the same as Virgin Atlantic - two of the best! I actually think they have the most ergonomic seats I've sat in in economy class.

Anyhow, Etihad are supposedly great, as Qatar are good, but it'd be hard to top Emirates who really do rule the roost. Let me know next time you plan on travelling and I'll give you an idea on planes, and flight times etc.
