I thought it was a great article.

For the last five years I've listened to most of the people in here bemoaning the fact that we'd lost our "arrogance and ruthlessness".

Caro's the problem now that we've got it back?

Get a grip - it was a very complimentary article.

Well said GWS.

Caro shitted me up the wall when she declared Judd would go to Collingwood, but this article is great. She has summed up better than anyone else in her can, the culture of Carlton.

The arrogance is back, and it's reflected in the manner we go about our business now. Some of you posters really have no clue at all !

The article could well have been written by any number of posters from this website. It was completely factual and didn't reveal anything new.

Where does it say she has to write something new?

She's a commentator, a lot of her articles are about summing up the football landscape.

And as if you could write as well as that. Pfft !

Sunday's article was an accurate description of where our club is culturally at the moment, and I think most would agree that it's a good place to be. Wilson did not condemn our club, but simply gave a reasonable commentary, which was largely complinentary.

What is annoying is the mindless and frequently misogynistic abuse that gets hurled in her direction every time she writes about our club.

Wilson's scathing articles about Richmond over the last few years clearly showed that she isn't anti-Carlton, but is against clubs that behave in a stupid manner. Whilst I don't always agree with what she says, she gets it right far more often than any of the other commentators in the media.

Completely agree.

Got a good laugh out of Caro's article last Sunday. While acknowleging Carlton's success re Judd and the demise of Lance she couldn't restrain herself from sticking the boot in.
She called the club arrogant and ruthless.
Fine!!
What she seems to conveniently forget , is that her father ran the Richmond Football Club in exactly the same manner.
Ian ''Octa'' Wilson along with Graeme Richmond, formed a very formidable and successful partnership, and were the driving force behind a very formidable Tiger outfit.
Ruthlessness and arrogance were their good points!
I can handle constructive criticism, but hypocrisy shits me.

absolutely agree..

Article was fair and complimentary.
Agree that comments about Caro's looks are below the belt.

Having said that, let me say this.

A simple summing up of the football landscape hardly makes a great writer Speakers.

And I'd be able to out write you and day of the week Speakers, God knows how much of your drivel we've had to put up with over the years.

Apparently after she wrote the article, she had to go out and buy a packet of Depend cos, she got real nervous.

Well she isn't her dad, she is her own person and whatever her dad did doesn't define her. Second, whether that is even true or not doesn't mean that Carlton is or isn't being arrogant. She is simply stating a fact. You'd have to be biased to think we weren't being arrogant over the last couple of weeks. Frankly I'd prefer the arrogance we were known for in the 70s to 90s were replaced with "confidence". I think Judd is the role model. He is not arrogant, just has enormous self belief. He doesn't have to tell anyone he's good, he just knows he is. That's how I'd like us to be.

"Did you think about kennedy at all over the last few days?" - Judd: "not really". Just stating facts and not being ashamed by them.

OK then .... I'm feeling extremely confident now

That we are Carlton and everyone else can get [REDACTED].

Great to see someone able to criticize Wilson for her journalism (warranted or not) without having to resort to the misogynist garbage relating to her appearance that often passes for criticism in this place.

Jolly good show Agro...

Just so long as you pull me up on calling Patrick Smith a fat bastard.

I think your confusing "mysogyny" with "misanthropy".

Hey Verbs, maybe you should give us an article about the Blues. Seeing as anyone can write that sort of stuff.

The ONLY word I need to know how to spell is "insidious".

Now I know what Steve Waugh meant by mental disintegration. It's oh such fun!

Did I miss the article where she whacked Richmond for sacking Gasper :? . Oh well, I'm sure she meant to write it  .

Carro just hours before Judd announces he's leaving WC;

"pffft, there is no way Judd is going anywhere, bwaaaaahahahahah!!"

I heard her on 3AW just after Judd announced he was leaving the Toasters, and she said there would be no way Carlton would get Judd without losing Fev...
